I have an appointment this Saturday at Discount tires for some 295-70-18 Toyo Open Country AT3s. I just want to do some due dilligence and have scoured multiple Tundra Forums and FB groups for inputs.

I have a 2020 TRD Pro with the oem fox suspension and BBS wheels. I have also added a ReadyLift SST Pro Plus 2 lift (additional 2" front lift and 2" rear) as well as a set of Coachbuilder +3 shackles (another 1.75" rear lift). I currently have 1.25" spidertrax spacers and 275-70-18 KO2s and experience no rubbing at all. I have seen a lot of posts and comments confirming that the 295-70-18 tires fit just fine and there is no rubbing once the front mudflaps behind the front bumper are removed.

My question is will I have any rubbing issues with 295-70-18 tires AND my 1.25" spacers? If anyone has personal experience with this setup please share. Any input is gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’m running 1.25 wheel spacers and 295/70R18 STT PRO on my Pro. I added shims, so I’m about 2.5 lift up front. I removed the mud flaps in front and rear or front wheel well. I rubbed the front fender liner which resulted in me pushing it forward. Now I have no rubbing at all.

Thanks for your input! Was it easy to push the fender liner?

I'm running the trd pro shocks with shims and coachbuilder +3 shackles. I also have spidertrax spacers on the trd rims. I had to remove the front mud flaps and that was it. I did have rubbing on the stock skid plate and front sway bar, but that was before I threw the spidertrax on.

Thats the closest setup so far to what I have. Which 295-70-18s did you go with?

    I went with the Cooper at3 XLT's in 295/70/18

You can probably compare the dimensions of the coopers to your Toyos and if they are similar I think you'll be good to go with just removing the front mud flap.

Thanks. Your feedback makes me feel more confident. I might just bite the bullet. Did your MPGs drop significantly?

To be honest, I think I lost about 1.5mpg's. The tires do weigh quite a bit more than the stock tires. Keep in mind that your distance traveled and mph will be slightly impacted as well.

It wasn't hard pushing the liner forward. I actually used ziptie to hold it in place and never went back to change it. There are alot of threads about fitting 295's or even 35's that explain the front fender liner. A side note from my research. The Cooper STT Pro's run larger than most 295/70's (34.5x12 @ 70lbs each). That could explain why @AZTundra didn't experience the same rubbing issues I did. I think the AT3 XLT's are 34.25x12.

Update: I installed 295-70-18 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires today and kept my spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers on. There was only rubbing on full lock in reverse. I have since removed the front mud flaps so hopefully it remedies the rubbing or at least improves it.

BTW for those who are curious I have stock TRD Pro Fox Suspension along with a readylift SST Pro Plus 2 lift kit (Adds 2" Front/Rear) and Coachbuilder +3 shackles (Additional 1.7" rear lift).

Its up to your preference. Without the CB shackles, it sits very level, almost no rake. For me, I have a canopy and a decked system so it was very level and when parked on a slope it was slightly squatting. The +3 CB gave me a nice rake (which I prefer) and got rid of the squat when im parked in my sloped driveway.

My pics are with a 2" block and +3 CB shackle. The ReadyLift kit has the 2" rear block.
