What the ever lovin fuck is happening to my interior panels?!?! I take pretty good pride in keeping the truck clean and in top shape, now this shit shows up! What the fuck Toyota? Not sure as if this has happened over time or just overnight, as I've never noticed it before. It's only the rear passenger.. so far. Anybody see anything like this? Of course I'm out of factory warranty with almost 90k miles. But seriously, the black interior panels turning green? Of all things.. fucking green?

I left a pair of chacos (black ruber sole, sort of similar texture to the door panel) in the back of my truck (with a topper) for a few days. One was exposed to a lot of sun, the other was not. The one exposed to the sun turned green like this. The comparison is a stretch but maybe some sorta UV issue.

What products do you use to detail your interior? Could be a reaction with a bad detail spray/chemical and the panels.

Maybe let them go full green and see if anyone with an army green is looking for color matched door panels.

In all seriousness, that sucks. As mentioned above, maybe some type of cleaner that was used, but that would probably affect all 4. Maybe sun damage?

I'm at a loss of what could cause it.. but have come to the realization that it is not repairable.

I've used the same cleaner on this tundra since day 1, and on my previous 15 tundra. Maybe sunlight hitting it in Colorado for 15 hours a day, however I figure I would see it on the dash first if that's the issue. It is only noticeable in direct sunlight, and can't really be seen from the inside with the doors closed. I've been kinda glancing at new vehicles anyway as I'm pretty much done modding and want a new project and this just pushed me over the edge. Maybe the book price won't take too much of a hit with the newly colored panel.

If it is in fact the release agent for the dye for the panel I think there would be way more cases of this.. which I'm not seeing but just a couple.

    There are 2 basic causes:
1: Blunt impacts to doorliner that create stress marks in plastic. They typically are white, but the resin Toyota uses shows up more as a green tint.
This can be caused from kicking the door open, trying to remove the doorliner, kids standing on the bottom pocket etc.
2: Chemical reaction to sun screen, bug spray, cleaners etc.

I would take my truck to a reputable upholstery shop in your area. I'm guessing that if you take it to a dealer, they will sniff and say something like.... "sure, they all do that".

I'm 99% sure that is UV damage. With your description of your situation, I would say there is UV protection in the Tundra windshield (like a lot of today's cars/trucks) and that is why you don't see the damage on the dash or front doors. With the amount of time you say your truck sits in the sun, it is likely UV damage. The damage is irreversible, but you can re-dye it with special dyes made specifically for the application. However, you will probably have to do it on a regular schedule unless you put UV protective film on your windows.
