The OEM rearview mirror in my 2010 needs to be replaced as the mirror part has some peeling. It's the basic mirror with no electronics. Does anyone know if the factory wiring for the upgraded one with the autodimming and Homelink is up in the ceiling?

I did this on my 08 and the wiring was up there.

My 12 had the wiring also and is a grade level. I found a homelink mirror from a sequoia salvage on eBay for $70.

You have to remove the overhead center console thing and it's tucked up and in there.

Awesome, thank you! I hope it's not a pain to get that down. I just purchased a used rear view mirror with the Homelink and compass that looks very similar if not identical to what comes on the newer 2014+ Tundras. Hoping the wiring connector is identical so that I don't have to splice anything.

It does have quite a few screws holding it up there!

So the entire overhead center console has to come down?

You can use a plastic pry tool to pop out the spot where you either have the rear view camera or the sunglasses holder to see if it's visible with just that piece out.

It was not for me and I had to remove the rest of the console. If I remember correctly, it locks into the ceiling up front and pivots down from the back. If it doesn't do this on its own, you haven't found all the screws.

Finally have a Homelink rear view with compass mirror ready to go. I got the overhead console down and I see a 14 pin harness which I believe is the OEM backup camera wiring. The mirror I have has a 10 pin harness. I do see two different taped off wire bundles up in the headliner but am not sure if they are just grounds.

I just tapped wires when I added my Gentex mirror. My Gentex pigtail only had 3 wires (-, + mirror, + Homelink).

Found the wires I wanted to use from the harness in the headliner and tapped them (ignition + for the mirror, constant + for Homelink, tho some don't like using constant hot as it gives low life's a way into your garage if they break into your truck).

Do you by any chance remember or know which wires from the 14 pin harness I can grab?

I would get the correct mirror with the correct plug.

Thank you for the the wiring diagram link! I think I'm looking at the correct page for mine, but I am not quite sure which wires I should be looking at on the 14-pin harness to tap into. For those with a 2010-2013 that installed a Homelink/Compass mirror, how exactly did you wire it in?

Does anyone by any chance have the part number for the W1 14-pin connector? I don't want to splice into factory wiring and am thinking about just making my own wiring harness. I only have 3 wires to connect and will wire this to power the mirror and Homelink on ignition power only. I'll need to order the W1 connector and a few pins for these wires.

Hey fellas, is this the right way to wire the rearview mirror cable through the headliner? Not sure it's through the roof and windshield or through the front of the top console area? Also this is the correct cable right? There is also another 10 pin connector but it is white. I want to purchase the mirror today from ebay.

I wish I could tell ya, but mine is the 14 pin connector. Instead of hacking the wiring I'd like to make my own, but I am not sure what the part number is for the male version of the 14-pin connector. I just need that and I can easily make the harness using the pigtail that came with my new mirror.

I only have the one 14 pin connector up under the overhead console.

What year is yours? Think 07 through 10 use 10 pin and 11 on up was either a 12 or 14 pin if I'm not mistaken
