    Happy Friday!

What are the weekend plans!? I’m going to be puttering and trying to knock down a very long list of house chores.

That Bowie's looking pretty sweet. That smaller little one looks awesome as well.
Hell - they all look like they'll be pretty damn functional...

Not too sure ‘functionality’ is appropriate for the Bowie, lol.
Unless you’re spending evenings on the weekends in downtown Seattle or Portland.

All the comments about Tundra's not having enough or too old of tech makes me laugh. After driving a stripped down 2014 Jeep for seven years the Tundra is cutting edge to me. This truck puts a huge smile on my face :)

I am with you. I moved to my 2021 Tundra from two Hondas from 2008. No bluetooth, BSM, or any other tech. The Tundra is super advanced compared to what I was driving before so I have no complaints. I feel like I still have features to figure out after 6 months of ownership.

It’s not quite up to snuff compared to my 2016 F150, but it is close enough and works 100% of the time. I’ll take functional over “cool but unstable” any day of the week.

I drove a 2020 GMC Denali, and the amount of tech on that was way too much IMO. I probably won't even use all that the Tundra has.

    Cheers to Friday!
House/property chores and outfitting the new trailer for next week.

To your question a while ago about quality control during Covid times. Pretty standard issues with the new trailer, half ass caulking job and sawdust in cabinets. I'm pretty happy for a $20k trailer. No different quality than my '18.
One thing that had me pissed off, then made me laugh was the electrical connections, or lack there of.

Ha ha, when I upgraded my truck it was from a 1999 F150. A 19 year old delta. My wife hated the fords bench seats and really likes the Tundras CM seating.

I'd honestly install Ford seats if they would fit. I had the 60/40 split on my truck and they were heaven. I could drive for 8+hrs and not have any issues. The Toyota seats are not bad, but they're kinda stiff and lack bolstering. Comfortable, but not as comfortable. My buddy just bought a '16 and when the wife sat in it I thought she might leave me.

I have a short list of technology stuff I would like and I don’t think any of the big 3 have it either. It’s simple stuff and seems like it should already be here.
    1) speedometer should be responding to a global non cellular gps so it’s always 100% accurate regardless of tire size etc
    2) navigation system should likewise be non cellular and allow the user to toggle between road maps and topo maps, with automatic updates available at no charge
    3) the clock should be linked to automatically set itself to the correct time whenever it’s turned on (I have a $8.00 digital clock that does this)

#2 and 3 - That’s why I like apple CarPlay. Combined with Gaia GPS and download offline maps. Note if I could just customize the interface to include #1 I’d be set

Having brunch, waiting for truck to be finished at the dealership. Then off to hit some mountain roads and check out some fire damage on hunting grounds.

Last of the Toyota care service and an alignment. It's pulling to the right and a slight shake.

My sales guy was strongly encouraging me to use the Toyota care service vs doing it myself. I'm not sure why, looked through all the requirements and didn't see any penalty for doing it yourself.

There isn't. But the dealership I go to has treated me right so "if it's free it's me" while I go get food.

Just finished mowing. Or more accurately, walking around the yard in a self-induced dust cloud. I’m covered in dirt from head to toe.

Time to get cleaned up, then start on the bacon
