I havent been out to the dunes in almost 4 years. I used to spend three days a week out there when I had my Tacoma.

Hope you had a good time and it wasn't too windy.

 

I’m actually out in San Quintin Baja California. Right in the beach. Having a great time. But I got my ass handed to me the sand haha. Frame deep haha

I’m looking for a good local shop in the area. I would like to have someone else change the fluids underneath. I don’t have a good place at the apartment anyway. I live in north county and commute to National City during the week so anywhere between would work.

As you can see I disconnected the trailer and was able to get myself out the first time. Fell
In to softer sand immediately that’s when things went frame deep. Haha at least my light bar looked cool

were you running low pressure on your tires ? looks like you were loaded up heavy too.

 

Yes 3 quads on the trailer and a small 50cc in the bed plus other things. Once I got stuck I dropped it down to 15psi. That’s why I was able to get out the first time.

I just took off my black AVS bug shield thing. If anyone wants it you can have it. Going in the trash next weekend if it’s not claimed.

 

Went down the techstream rabbit hole today.

Is there someone that can reprogram my stock settings locally? I’d imagine everyone has their favorite settings. Please share the wealth that is information on this topic.

Anyone local need a 1st gen 4.7L motor, trans, wire harness and ECU?
Out of a 2002 2wd.
280k on motor and trans, no known issues, all maintenance up to date.
A friend rolled the truck, bought it back for his parts, and is selling the rest before it goes to the junk yard.
Engine fired right up without struggle after the rollover.

 

any causal meets or anything coming up in the future? Looking to make a cruise down sometime to meet some of you fellow Tundra people.

 

Hmmn, dunno. We like gettin’ together, but usually don’t see much of each other July- mid September because most of our nearby dirt is desert and it’s too hot. In the history of this thread, we haven’t yet pulled off something quick like a parking lot meet. We always wind up on dirt.

@eccracer104 used to invite us to the Taco brewery happy hour meet-ups. Maybe someone on here wants to suggest a place and date….

Or… @Spvrtan has* regular parking lot meets at an In N Out up in North Co. (*had?! …damn Covid…). I think he’s most active on Instagram.

Finally, a few members on here are active with SoCal Tundras and they have (had?) regular meets on Fiesta Island. I think that’s a FB group.

Or… … it’s possible that someone reading this will ask you along if they have something planned….

 

@Kgfit85 and myself tried to hunt out a trail for the San G. meetup, after sloggin' over some bumpy fireroads and getting behind the Seven Oaks Dam, we managed to roll up the Santa Ana river valley a lil' ways before we got denied by a big fat steel forestry gate . Looks like any trail runs headed through the lower end of that valley will need an alternate route. Still a nice drive was had, a golden eagle was spotted, and got the dip my toes in the "river" *cough*. Lucky for me @Kgfit85 didn't see me eat shit on some boulders, which required a proper beer first aid treatment when we got back to town.
