Edit: When I started this thread I was excited about the Alpha Rex. They had the DRL and the amber turn signal. During this write up I had to replace a set do to one of the lights failing. Well I had another light fail, so I decided enough. Time to change and go with Toyota OEM.

At the end of this is my new write up.

I would like to say Headlight Revolution had excellent customer service during this debacle.

Anyone know where I could get a good manual for installing Alpha Rex headlights? Most videos cut out the important wiring up. Just remove the grill remove headlights and whalla look how great they look .

    Any info would help.

I got one harness I would assume that it would go for driver and passenger. No mention in the video.

I wired mine up on the second gen. Can’t imagine the harness is much different on yours. Mine did only have one harness with enough wire to run from battery to both sides of the truck.

What series did you get? Did you get them from alpha directly?

I think everything just plugged right in, except the fuse that needed to be tapped. Post an imagine someone will surely be able to walk you thru it or send you a link.

These seem to be the go-to lights. What other lights do people go with other than the Alpha Rex? I’m still making my list…

I think that it is the same. I received one harness that looks like it would hook up both lights.
Problem is The videos I have seen they just show lights hooking up and the fuse. Nothing about the harness. Also most products you can go to manufacture web site and down load a manual. I couldn’t find one which is weird because they seem to sell this as more of a DIY product.
It may not be that difficult but I want to get it right.

    What advise do you have.

Dive into it. They are relatively simple. If the plug doesn’t fit it’s the wrong hole. If you run into an issue I have a phone number to an Alpharex tech I can share via PM.

Here is the DRL wire diagram

I think the wire harness is for the outside DRL lights. The two amber lights (side marker light and blinker light) are reused on the new lights. The factory wire harness is used on the Alpha Rex lights.

Ok another question for you guys.
I went with LED turn signals. I bought the resistors. The resistors that came has 2 female connectors attached. I know I can cut them off.
Both wires are black on mine. I assume that it would not matter which wire I use. Please correct me if needed.

Question: I am assuming that I use the T splice and go to the turn signal light. With one wire. The other should be a ground? I have been trying to find a good video on this have not yet.

I used Headlight Revolution's video for my install. They have a Tundra led turn signal video install. I believe the resistor install is around minute 17. I used the resistors in the video but I don't think it matters which end you use for the power and ground.

Good day out at the garage. I appreciate you guys and the input. Videos helped. The install took about 2.5 -3 hours. I stalled the resistors, found a decent place to mount them. Wire loomed everything.

What I was surprised by was the DRL lights. No where in the description did I read that the DRL lights turn amber. Hooked everything up and they were amber colored. Until you turn the headlights on. When the headlights are on now the DRL is white. Until you use a turn signal then it blinks amber in a sequential pattern.

Surprised about this and the question is can I keep the DRL s amber even with headligts on, or even keep the DRL white all the time? Until I use turn signals. It seemed to keep white for awhile and I thought it would stay that way but went back.

Make sure you read the part about the sequential turn signal over again. It looks like you have that plug messed up like I did

Ok so what I ended up doing, is taking the harness and plugging it into itself. So my DRL is now white. I lost the ability to have sequential turn signals. So I don't know if I can gain those back. This is how it looked at first.

But when I turned on my lights it went to this.
But had sequential turn signals. After plugging the harness into itself, now it is like this. IMG-6728.jpg

I don’t believe Alpha makes a headlight with amber DRL. If your getting an amber DRL then something is wrong is my understanding.

Yeah I did not expect it myself, but before I rewired when the amber was constantly on until I turned on the headlights it worked. IDK
