To be fair, I can't wrap my head around a 'dry heat'. We have humidity here every day. It's like a rain forest without the rain, forest, animals, or beauty.

I understand. We have humidity but the level relative to the intensity of the heat is minimal and therefore usually goes unnoticed. In large part it's part of the very real potential danger of dehydration. One doesn't notice they are dehydrating because they don't notice sweat beading on their skin due to very rapid evaporation, so the mind is tricked into believing they aren't dehydrating.

I can't decide if that would make for a pleasant 'drift off to sleep' death, or a miserable, suffering death.

Knowing what I know I tend to believe it's a miserable, suffering one. What can make it even worse is that unless one has a landmark to orient themself to one can easily become disoriented with where they are since the surrounding environment all looks the same. You end up doing nothing but going around in circles. Not pretty.

    Noted.
Wandering in circles in the heat sounds big bad.
Even with the seemingly endless corn, soy, and wheat fields we have here, there are sufficient landmarks for navigation.

That's disgusting. I'm so done with summer and ready for fall. It's still shitty here but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, but you've got that high humidity thing going for you there. I lived in Tx for about 11 yrs and I don't miss the humidity at all. Love Tx and native Texans though. Some of the most hospitable people I've ever met. Oh, and I don't miss softball-sized hail either. I remember a storm in 2012 (?) where the flamingos at the Ft Worth zoo were being beaned on the head with it, killing them. Nasty stuff.

I'm in the other part of TX, up in the panhandle. Fortunately we're devoid of the humidity.

I gets humid here but not nearly as bad as when we lived in FL. I love our summers here despite the humidity. We've not a nice thunderstorm overhead at the moment.

Yeah, anytime you get near the Gulf-states, it's off the charts. My 2 youngest daughters live together in Cocoa Beach. I refuse to visit except for certain times of the year.

I mean, I get removal in animals, but threatening a human with that is just ... wrong. I got mine tied up b/c there's less complications for me than my better 3/4.

The only weird part is, I don't think I thought about what happens once they're disconnected. What it'd feel like. with disconnected tubing in there, it feels like a sack of sketti meatballs up in there.

Lived in FL, TX, CA, NY and GA. I can tell you, we who live within an hour or so of the AL/TN/GA/SC/NC intersections are truly blessed. You get all four seasons but aren't dying. Granted, I've been to our main office in PHX when it's 115+ out. You don't sweat just by moving around in that like you would've in FL. I don't miss walking out of my house at am and collecting fat droplets of humidity as you walk to the car. You're not sweating so much as you're collecting outside humidity on your skin. It's sick.

We got a heat wave of 90+ degrees hot and sticky here for the next 2 days.

Maybe I should stop by the mall for the indoor AC; do people still go there?

I was actually referring to my previous avatar that was considered by another member as possibly NSFW. He wasn’t cryin about it, just givin me a heads up before I got a wrist slap or a hammer smack. And I thanked him. Anyways, it was a cool kid. Possibly one of the coolest. @Sirfive called for cool kid avatars, is why I mentioned him and the reason it was what it was. In my defense, it’s highly debatable whether or not a child breastfeeding is actually NSFW

    Re: the hail

I remember sticking my arm out the back door once in an attempt to catch one. Really bad idea. I instantly had a large and painful red welt from swelling when one hit my forearm. I never did that again.

    Re: the tornado's

I can honestly say that I saw more destruction of property and nature in Tx than I care to remember. It's a sight to behold if one has never seen what the wind can do when it's high enough.

I love Tx and Texans though and if I didn't live in Az, I would be in Tx.

I feel like native, well born Arizonaianites have similar welcoming as Texans. My grandpa was born here, but moved to Texas and totally fell in love and picked up the accent and everything. I love listening to his stories just for the accent and flare, but then most of his stories are from here in the SW.
other than haboobies, the weather out here is pretty mild compared to the rest of the world

Yup. Maternal family is peppered all over SE/S/SW San Antonio. Used to spend the summers there when we weren't with my paternal grandparents in northern LA. Playing with tarantula holes. Watching storms brew. From the mobile home, on their small patch of dirt in Karnes City. Don't miss it.

But it was much worse the 2.5 years we spent in the DFW area. Lived in/around Arlington. Multiple days going to or from school, you could see tornadoes from the bus. Ever seen a kid hyperventilate? At 10 years old, I learned what hyperventilating was thanks to a kid freaking out on the bus over a tornado.

    Y'all can have it.
Yeah, I contemplated just saying "human excretions" (thought I did, but apparently not?) to get the point across, but opted for the other.

And your previous avatar was the standing lamp optical illusion thingy from like 15 years ago that looks like a 'whale tail'? I thought that was SirFive's avatar. Anyway, I'm guessing a lot of people don't remember when that was getting passed around as a meme bitd.

Haha also, if you didn’t know; that dorm used to be like “the” dorm for native Americans, but some weird shit happened……… and now they stay at yavapai.
And then la Paz next door, some kid climbed the tower in the courtyard and then fell off and died on the roof, crane had to haul the body off( both of these I wasn’t employed for, only stories)
All I can say is HAVE FUN!!!
