Hi all, so today I took my truck to a local shop to find out what was causing the squeaking in my suspension. Turns out its the lower control arm bushings. The shop told me toyota doesn’t sell the bushings and to get OEM LCAs is fairly expensive.

Wondering what my possible options are here? Any aftermarket bushings that are reliable? If not, any aftermarket LCAs I may want to consider since OEMs are fairly expensive?..

    Thanks!

Toyota does sell bushings but they're very expensive. I went with Beck Arnley lower arms (bushings included) and so far they're alright. They sent two different arms from two different manufacturers so the matter of quality is hard to gauge.

Do you remember how much the OEM bushings were? How long have you had your LCAs?

The bushings are around 70 each, all 4 is around 300. Getting the old ones out looks like a pain. There is a method where you use the stock bottle jack and put it between bushings to press them outward. I tried that and bent my lower arm, maybe I should have torched it first.

I looked into aftermarket ones but didn't want to risk the poly squeaking. I believe White Lighting or something like that makes poly bushings for our trucks on the cheap. To install them you have to reuse sleeves from the stock bushings.

I have had beck arnley since January 2019. Here you can see where the bushings have wide shoulders on the outside ends. Thats why removal looks painful if you want to reuse any of the stock bush. I can only see cutting the shoulder off and pressing them out as an option. Maybe the jack move works with a torch.20181210_170717.jpg

Wonder how many good sets of these have been thrown out since the frame recall? Mine seemed alright before but they replaced the LCA's with frame recall and I sure as hell wasnt gonna stop them.
