I agree with the Bak cover but have you checked Tyger Blades? I was set on RB20 but the Tyger Blades are cheaper and the fitment looks better.

From what I've seen the DC doesn't have rear vents, thus why I chose the CM. But the DC does have adequate space, CM is just absurdly large lol

Since I don't own the kids and only drive them around for work, they provide me with a vehicle to use. But with 2 littles I did find it harder to pass snacks back in the bigger tundra. Minor complaint, and honestly I had to find something to dislike because that back window and sunroof were pretty enviable!

Totally get it. It’s also harder to use my dad grip on one of my kid’s knees when they’re being turds to one of their siblings. Haha

I have the Tyger blades. I liked them better than Rb20’s. I had issues with them. Sent them back. The bed liner finish is better on the Tyger blades.

I almost modded my 2008 DC to add rear vents to the console, but it was going to be a bigger ordeal than I wanted to bother with once my kids started driving on their own and didn't spend as much time in the back seat.
Now, I spend more time shuttling adults and the big back seat is very nice for that. The loss of bed space I don't miss as much as I was worried I would.

I love the DCs and the CMs. Either bed length is fine for what I need, and the CM provides ample space for my kids with our 60-lb dog curled up at their feet. If there had been an option right between the two (6' bed with 6" less cab space than CM), I would've jumped on that. The DC was just a little too tight with our dog.

First time taking it to a trail like this, had tons of fun, I was worried if the trd sways would limit flex on odd trails but she crawls just fine, need sliders, and install skids.

This. We marvel at the fact there isn’t anything in between the two. I could easily see a 4-8” smaller backseat with a 6’ bed being the Goldilocks. The rear seat in the CM is great, but I don’t think I’ve ever found anyone who didn’t say it could lose 6” and still be the most space in a rear seat!

Got mine 4 days ago, traded my 2020 AT4 for it. I've been driving since the mid 90s, never been happier with a vehicle.Screenshot_20210820-194736_Gallery.jpg 20210819_125424.jpg 20210819_125415.jpg 20210819_155634.jpg

    Couple of q's.

    1. AT4 WAS my dream truck but just couldn't find one, why the trade in?
What tonneau and running boards are those?

RB 20s for the boards and I think MX4 for the tonneau...

Also curious on the comparison to the AT4. I was shopping between the Pro and AT4 - obviously landed with the Pro, but AT4 with the 6.2 seemed like a great truck - at least from afar.

Availability and dealerships god like complex kept me away. Pretending like the AT4 was an absolute bargain with $2500 rebate. Like these trucks since inception had like $15k in total rebates prior.

Also the seats. GM needs a new seat supplier. Theirs suck.

That pushed me away as well. Early in my search (Summer 2020), they were still in the $12k+ discount mode, which effectively priced an AT4 at the same as a Pro. I had already decided on a Pro, but when those discounts evaporated, it was a no go for sure. Would be immediately upside down on that purchase.

Any of you running MR701 wheels on your rigs? I think those are what I'm going to get. I like the bronze/LR look.

Yeah they do look good the bronze. I was looking at over tacoma world LunaRock Pro’s with bronze wheels just get a idea what they look like. It looks good on LunaRock. I still follow all the Toyota forums.

I thought it would be my dream truck too, then I owned it. The 6.2 with the GM Performance exaust and intake was special, but the AFM and 10 speed made driving it feel awful. The Rancho shocks were trash, Bilstein's improved the ride, but it still felt real heavy (boxed frame all around). It rattled, was difficult to find aftermarket suspension, and the seats were too firm. I wanted butt coolers and a 360 cam, but both were unnecessary, and will meet their planned obsolescence soon.

Turning radius sucked, the accents around the grill were de-laminating, the adaptive cruise broke on the way to the dealer, and a bunch of other things I hated.

They offered $58.5k on the trade, and so I made money on the deal (paid $52 last year). Aa a former military man, I desire versatility and reliability (towing, off road, kid hauling, etc). The Pro has this in spades. Honestly, I couldn't be happier. Both that AT4, and my 2019 ZR2 were great concepts that fail terribly as 'trucks'.

And yea, RB 20s and the Toyota tri fold. I did the boards, the tonneau came with it.

I know they had QC issues but most were pointed to the engine issues. After our Yukon and Traverse I stopped considering GM but loved the way the AT4 looked on the outside.

It wouldn’t even need to be a new frame. DC and CM are on the same frame and have the exact same overall length. The DC bed is longer by 12” and its cab is shorter by 12” than the CM.

Just make a cab right between the two: 6” shorter cab than the CM and 6” longer bed than the CM. I bet it would sell the best of the 3. :notsure:

Looks great, but quality and performance are far behind. I worry about the 4th generation Tundra for some of these same issues.
