Multiply the kW by 1.3 to get HP. Maybe the Tundra get this engine :burnrubber:

Nobody here has said anything about not buying a Tundra because of global warming. I do not care about your politics or belief system because I am here to get information on the 2022 Tundra because I am interested in buying one.

Sure the Tundra will totally get a hand built engine from a LMP1 class endurance race car. I mean why wouldn’t Toyota want to put a $150,000 engine in a production truck?

Well I have to concede that is a worthy goal.

Just imagine the poor driveline needing to put up with that kind of torque in low gears with a load on or behind the truck.

Don't forget that it would need an engine rebuild at every oil change too.

Those LMP1 engines are pretty damn tough, we’d all probably be surprised how long one will last with good maintenance and not being flogged every second of its life.

If it weren’t a Toyota I would agree. I have more faith in them than The alternatives.

Puts out 900+ HP in race configuration, de-tune it down to 650 and it'll last quite a while. And do electric motors need to be de-tuned the same amount as ICE engines? Because if not that hybrid drive would be a 250 HP boost on it's own. I'm sure they'd take it down to extend battery life, but a truck could take a lot more batteries than a LMP would.

I find it a lot of fun to check out the racing world for what tech could be upcoming. Ford learned a ton running their EcoBoost type engines in their race cars. And it's fun that the Toyota LMP has a 3.5 V6TT, just like the rumored Tundra will have.

Yep same here I’d only consider switching away from Toyota if my payload needs change. 3/4 or 1 ton am just haul a toy hauler travel trailer and do off-roading with a buggy or something maybe a little pit bike. Those are fun

That is a bad ass race car for sure, interesting though that the rules don't allow more than 500KW of power to be used at any one time, so the car is programmed to use whatever source is most advantageous at the moment.

I personally loved the Quicksand and then when they cut that I was looking at Cav blue and Voodoo blue but the ol' lady said she saw an Army Green and thought it looked good. My only concern is I remember the 90's when green was really popular. The Bonneville was green with gold trim and a tan interior but that did not age well. Do you think you will still like the Army Green in 10-20 years? Cause I think after my refinance I am going to pull the trigger on a new truck and hopefully I can get 20 years out of it like my current Tundra.

3.5l V6 TT hybrid in that race car. 3.5l V6 TT hybrid rumored to be in the 2022 Tundra. Easy to see where Toyota is testing the tech that'll end up in their road vehicles.
