    Recently bought this vehicle(04 Tundra) from a woman who clearly let the wrong ppl mess with the truck. Now this is what I get to work with

    Could be worse; some critter could be living in there...

    Just get a wiring diagram and figure out where the toyota wiring ends and the new wiring begins. Checking speaker wires and power should be fairly easy to do if you don't have an external amp hiding somewhere else in the cab.

    It makes no sense why shops even do this because harnesses are cheaper than the labor required to rig that mess up

    Is there still a factory amp at the other end of that wiring? If it is it will be bolted in behind the HVAC control area. If it's still there and that's what all that mess is connected to it is really easy to pull out the amp and use the wires that hook into the bottom of it for a rewire with a new harness. It would just use the regular Toyota harness with two separate plugs.
