    It is simply a homage to the early racing colors Toyota used. Red orange and yellow on a white background is the original combo. This appeared on the hoods of some early pickups. Then Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's racing team and legendary Baja races gave them (the stripes) the status of a BADASS truck that kept winning.

    Yeah you should be able to make it work - the backing band is flexible, but a lot of guys have replaced it with something else depending on the grille.

    Thanks for the info! I respect the Toyota heritage and think it’s awesome how it is soooo embraced by us owners. Recently put the original Toyota logo and a red/yellow/orange Toyota sticker on the back window of my Tundra.
