What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I used Adams UV Ceramic Wheel Coating. I had a lot leftover from coating the Advans in that picture, so I used it for the new wheels. It changed the color a little bit. I think it made them look more bronze, but it could all just be in my head.

They're 18x9.5 Volk TE37xt in 0 offset. I went with 295/70/18 Toyo Open Country A/T III for tires. The total weight of the wheel and tire should be about 81lbs. The stock wheel/tire combo on my platinum is 81.7lbs. I considered 285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers because they're 10lbs lighter, but was worried they would look skinny on a 9.5in wheel. To prep for the wheels I did a Toytec Aluma series 3/1.5 level and CMC.

 

I thought they were Volk wheels. But I figured I ask. They will look awesome. I just received my forgeline wheels yesterday for my C7 Z06 corvette. Plan on changing my wheels on my Pro down the road. Working on audio system now which way I will go.

 

Added a TRD Cold Air Intake last week.

Color matched a tri-color grille badge

I don’t know if i like it or if it breaks the gradient too harshly

 

Blends in so much I hard trouble finding it. May want to consider the heritage trust-color version.

 

Refreshed the enamel on my tow hooks today. I don’t know what happened with the last application, but the paint didn’t hold up well at all. I took a wire brush to them to knock off the loose paint, and took the forward-facing areas down to bare metal. Two light coats of self-etching primer and then 4 coats of enamel later, I think they should hold up a little better.

 

New MR315’s with the Cooper STT Pro’s installed. No more Spacers. Not that they were bad, just a pain to deal with every time I wanted to swap tires. Not a aggressive looking as the MR312’s, but they still look good.

 

Installed oem wiper blades to replace the shittastic ones from Napa that were on the truck. And of course the wiper arm slipped out of my hands and promptly cracked my windshield .

 

I had that same shifter on my ‘08. Wish I still had it.

 

Yeah. I had it on my 2008 too and didn’t realize they were discontinued until after I traded it in. So I was on a quest to replace it.
Bought a floor shift module through a wrecking yard that had the shifter on it (they wouldn’t sell me just the shifter) for $75. Then had it cerakoted and redid the leather myself.

 

I love the look of those. I have the MR 306’s and the only thing I wish I could swap is the center piece, cuz on the 306 they stick out pretty far. I wish Method made their center caps interchangeable across the various models.

XTR LP REVERSE LIGHT


Rock Lights turn on when going in/out of truck. Illuminates your surroundings.

 

Well…these have been sitting in my dining room for almost a week. I like the look of them as they compliment the TRD Pro headlights I installed last year. Always hated the taillights on the Tundra.
Hopefully I get around to installing my amp research steps this weekend, been a helluva month so far…
Herewith a few pictures. Install took 20 mins.

 

Went from 275/70/18 on stock wheels to 295/70/18 with 1.25 Spidertrax spacers. Tundra has a way better stance and fill on my BDS 3inch suspension lift. Also installed my Spider Rack roof rack. Started the install late so the only pic I can take of the finish look was at night. Tundra looks totally different now!

 

Blacked the steering wheel.
Next is the trim around shifter, trim around dash assembly, and the climate knobs/4wd knob.

6 weeks in and still working well. I've had Waze hang up 2-3 times where it's still giving directions but the map doesn't update. The fix is to unplug the unit and then plug back in. But with that said, the Halo Master Commander voice on Waze is their best yet.

None of the other apps have given me any issues.

Poor man dump behind my Magnaflows. I was hesitant before I did it, was worried about increased loudness and drone, but am pleasantly surprised there was practically no effect. The tips are on straight, camera user error.

Installed these VLED units in the rear turn signals

V6 EXTREME RED 921 T15 (vleds.com)

Made a PnP harness and installed these without splicing into the factory wiring. Now the rear signals are brighter and add a extra taillight

A how to, with parts needs including links, would be hugely appreciated. Many of us have been wanting a system like this for the stock housing.

What paint did you use?

 

@swallace SEM trim paint works really well. But you can use most paints if you prep the surface well and use a clear after. I've done pieces in both SEM and other paints and been happy with the results.
