Air intake on the 5.7L

    I've read somewhere, that the 5.7 doesn't need an intake upgrade. Is this true, the intake supply is pretty short. If it is a good upgrade, should I do a throttle body spacer too.

    You can read it here on this forum in about a hundred different threads asking the same thing. The intake plenum has some sort of switching ability that varies the intake runner lengths at different RPMs and throttle plate angles. I think it's referenced as Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS). A throttle body spacer is a waste of money.

    The stock intake is a CAI. Any aftermarket intake is a waste of money. Put a high flow filter in such as a K&N, TRD, or AFE Pro Dry S and move on to the next mod.
