What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Ive been going to Paul at pro and local for a few years now also. Really passionate about what he does, and hes good at it. Highly recomended if you live in the area.

 

how did you ditch the seatbelt nanny? Drives me crazy. Yes wear seatbelt on long drives, short trips to mailbox or drop dauhter at friends nope, but still drives me nuts.

 

After driving a 15 year old Rav4(105k miles) from western Colorado to SLC,UT, I got in my truck at 6am and took the Tundra for a drive around city before the commuters clog the roads.
My elderly in laws are moving here to Salt Lake and are not able to drive on the interstate. So, I flew in on Tuesday, helped them and the movers get the last of their stuff packed, and drove them back here yesterday afternoon.
It really wasn't that bad despite warped rotors and a tired suspension. The old RAV4(4 cylinder) held 80-85mph on the interstate(have to love the 80mph speed limits) and handled just fine through the canyons. I will probably end up changing out the pads and rotors this weekend and order some loaded struts from Amazon. They've had the Rav since 06 and it has really been a gem. And somehow they got one that didn't have the oil consumption issues. The other funny thing is that the 15 year old drivers seat is more comfortable than in my 20 Platinum. Go figure, maybe I need to find one with the v-6 to hammer around the city.

I used Techstream to do it.

 

Couple minutes with Techstream or similar. There's a customization setting to disable it for passenger and for driver seats.

 

They open in 20 minutes. I'm excited.

 

My wife surprised me with a Krazy Beaver for a belated birthday present... shovel that is.
Installed a couple of pair of QuickFist mounts to my new accessory rack mounting system and mounted it, an axe and on the other side my Maxtrax recovery boards in anticipation for a weekend excursion.

 

Got around to making the dual rear seat power outlet mod. Thanks go out to @Chelly for the excellent computer printed mounting plate. Super easy and clean install.
I went with A USB 3.0 Quick Charging Car Outlet without the voltage reading because those kind of spurious lights drive me nuts in a dark cab at night. This one does light up blue when in use but that matches the rest of the lighting in the truck and is normally covered.

(4) Rock Lights mounted underneath the truck near step bar for lighting purposes. Helps illuminates when going in/out of the truck at night.
I tapped the wiring to the courtesy light so it only lights up when you open the door/unlock the truck.

Haha yeah, after install I naturally had to see if it made a difference or not — they work quite well!

Installed a universal fit bedrug on top of my Decked box today. It was the prefect length to do the box and the tailgate.

 

Hopefully Yotaled changed the material for the metal brackets that hold the LED's to the grill. After less the 4 weeks mine turned golden brown, including the anodized rings around the LEDs. I contacted them and they said tough luck. Keep us posted.

 

Well done, turned out great!

 

Swapped the red hardware for black on my AJT trim and my switch mount and shifter.


After ~9 months the red anodizing had sun-bleached to more of a pink (the little screws in the switch black were the worst). So I just decided to go black.

 

Sigh... makes me realize I still need to redo my shifter leather. I ended up with ridges on the sides. They have gone down with use but are still there.
Love that shifter though
