Well gents, yesterday as you know I purchased and posted up my new a Sig P220 SAS. So the real story is I had actually gone into my local GS looking for a Blue Label G30s. Sure enough they had one listed for $520. However yesterday when I saw and bought the P220 naturally I passed on the 30(S).
Today the more I thought about the G30s in Blue Label has always been pretty hard to find in my area. They just move dam quick. My brothers in Blue buy them up quick . They had only one G30s @Blue label $520 plus $35.10 tax so $555.10 OTD. Done! The 30s only comes in Gen3 right now and two mags..oh well. I will be ordering and adding Talon grips soon and an additional G21 large cap mag and another 10 rnd mag.

So today I bought the 30s, tomorrow is range day for both new pistols. Tomorrow the weather will be cool and sunny and I am all in for giving these pistols some down range time and a morning of solid shooting.

    image.jpg
Standard 10 rnd mag and one in the pipe. Nothing pretty, but dam reliable.

I love my 30s. I alternate between that and 19 as favorite pistols. Mostly it's the 19 but sometimes you just need to feel the push of a .45acp.

    Congratulations on the new toy.

If you have a 19, you'll be surprised (or maybe not) that the 30s is extremely similar in size, weight, and feel. Enjoy brutha!

I just picked up this Glock19 with blue line discount. I added the Surefire XC1 along with a Bravo Concealment Holster. I love how this gun feels in my hand and shootsIMG_1901.jpg

I have a blue label NIB 19 I have not even shot yet... I have been busy getting my wife trained up on her new G43, she really likes it and does very well at the range. We try and go at least twice a month if not more. You have a nice set up in that 19! The 19 is perfectly balanced IMHO.

I hear ya...maybe teach her how to shoot? I began slowly teaching my wife shooting fundamentals years ago, she really looks forward to range time. It's fun to watch her learn make great progress, gotta be patient bro. She is a very capable shooter now.

I'm curious to hear what you think after you shoot it. I've shot many of the Glock models and the 30s was my least favorite by far. I don't know if it was the ammo my buddy had in it , but the recoil was surprisingly rough on the hand. More so than the G27 or G29 IMO.
I don't mean it was a "snappy" handful, I mean after running a few mags thru it, my hand hurt.

Do you think they're similar in shooting? I was shocked by how rough the 30s recoil felt.

All of the Glock 9mm's are like butter. So smooth and easy to shoot that they spoil you. I shoot my G22 and G23 the most so I'm kinda a .40 guy, but when someone asks me what model Glock they should get, my standard answer is the G19.

I pay $464 for blue label 30s. That price sounds high.

Really thought they'd make a gen4 30s at some point.

If you locate and purchase a G30s for $464 including tax, and ATF transfer fee I say grab it. Naturally state tax and transfer fees are subject to change state to state. This particular purchase was the only G30s in my local area after checking with a several BL dealers. Supply and demand hung up a few bucks on this one, but I wanted it, so I scooped it up. Keepin in mind that BL dealers can mark up above BL product listing.
An example from an online BL dealer-

Naw. That 30s will definitely move your hands around a little more than the 19. I just meant dimensions and weight. Grip size too (if you run the medium or large backstrap for the gen4 19).
In fact. A 30s, with a threaded barrel and a can & light is an excellent home defense pistol since most .45acp loads are already subsonic.
And the can will tame some of the muzzle flip.

You got screwed over. You should have used a blue distributor vs dealer. There are no "atf transfer fees" just your dealer making extra money on your deal.

Hey Rocketman, I don't recall ever asking for your negative arse thoughts or feedback. Infact I feel pretty sure that the majority of decent members on like me here really could care less what you think about what I paid.

"Keyboard Know it alls" don't get very far in the circle of life whether it's forums, friends or work. So take a long hike!!:rofl::rofl:

There are always seems to be a few on every forum, they usually just end up leaving when they get ignored enough.:rofl::rofl:

    Toby,
I was only able to run 150 rounds through my new 30s this morning. A beautiful day to shoot at 74 degrees and slight breeze. I gotta tell ya, I really enjoyed and had fun shooting it. It was not as smooth as my new P220, but really it's apples to oranges comparing the two. I shoot as often as I can to stay dialed in.
Range days, I usually take my G27 and G43 and my G19 it really just depends. Now the G30s will be a regular in my range bag for sure.

The Sig on the other hand is a really awesome pistol and I think very smooth for a .45, a former duty carry that got away years ago. Happy to own one again ...love my P220. I probably did not do a great job answering your questions, as in my experience over the years what works for one person may not for another. Shoot what ya enjoy and enjoy what you shoot!

Sigs are great pistols. But for the most part, anytime you should a steel framed pistol (like the 220) vs a polymer framed pistol (G30s) the metal framed one is gonna feel like a smoother shooter.

Sigs are great and in no a comparison in build, fit, finish and quaility to the 30s. Sig is a very smooth "alloy framed" shooter for sure. The only reason I scooped the P220 SAS up is that I carried one for as a duty weapon for a few years...really missed it big time. At the time is was just called the Sig P220 carry, but pretty much the same pistol as the SAS aka- Sig anti Snag.

But after shooting the 30s today it's a keeper and not going anywhere. More range time!

It appears you are a bit sensitive to the fact you overpaid what is standard vs distribution blue label pricing.

You wanted it and that's cool, but your dealer didn't do you any favors. You should have paid $464.20 from a blue label distributor.

I'd be upset if I were you too. No need for personal attacks. Merely tying to help you better understand the program.

Hope your day gets better brother.

Distributor pricing is better than dealer pricing I agree because I have purchased this way.

However the only dealer in NC would be. 6 + hour round trip drive for Patriot. Not sure about the rest of you but 6 hours of my time is worth more than $60 let alone fuel and wear an tear. Sometimes people don't take that into account.

Note- Racketman just earned the coveted ignore award. A beautiful forum tool.:D

What's going on Tony? Used to live in Smyrna, when I was assigned to Atlanta Field Office from 1992-2000 Bought a number of Glocks when I lived there. And yes, all blue label.

Next time your over this way drop me a line and I will show you the foothills shooting complex. A very nice shooting range. I think you would be really impressed. We'll get you an LEO ID card.
But Bro please please don't ask me again what I paid for my 30s  I am really sensitive :rofl:you know how we retired LEOs are about slush money and counting our nickels.

LEO's shoot rifle/pistol for 7.00 all day. I spent a few hours there this morning and it was awesome!
