I just upgraded from a galaxy S9 to galaxy S21 Ultra and I believe the camera is holding the phone away from the charger a little.

Enough to where it will charge then stop, charge then stop about every 5 seconds.

    Anyone have any ideas?

BTW im using the same exact type and brand cover as I had on the S9 which worked fine.

Have you tried turning your phone off & back on?

I have an iPhone, but mine started acting funky like that last week. It wouldn’t charge right away & would also drop the charge frequently. I tested it with my AirPods, they held the charge. I tried my phone on my charging mat at home & it was doing the same thing on it. I turned the phone off & back on. Fixed.

Armrest charger is mediocre at best. I have mine and it's just a backup if we're charging multiple phones on trips. I've thought about opening it up and replacing the coil to a larger one to improve charging speed.

Installed the QI armrest charger on mine and see the same issue. It's probably either not close enough (case or camera clearance) or it isn't centered perfectly. Even if my phone is perfectly in place it charges very slowly. Used several versions of iphone and a galaxy s10 all with similar results

After doing some research it seems this new samsung phones are very picky about which wireless chargers will work with their phones and the toyota console charger isnt one of them.

Evidently a march update in 2020 started this (intentionally). Im guessing theres another thread about this around that time, Im going to search for it.

Same thing happened with the iPhone 12. Previous models worked great in my truck. The 12 will charge for maybe 3 minutes and then go red
