Valhalla’s Shield theft deterrent/skid plates info and ordering post

Based on what others ordered I went with this:

B4WBHP98 1/2" to 9/16" Bolt Head Protector
$5.00 x 4

 

right i think that would be fine for the bolts that come with it, if i'm not mistaken are 1/2" but the screwd security bolts are 3/8" so i figured i could go down a size on the bolt protector

 

In what garage are you going to park when you are at the grocery store, restaurants, etc.? and what does lifting it have to do with cats being cut/stolen? any stock Tundra is easy to get under!

 

I am not aware of anyone using the Barnes4WD washers with the screwd bolts. @CmdrD8TA has a good write-up of the screwd installation that might help.

I think he is saying that he can still fit in the garage since he has not lifted his truck.

 

What you stated is correct for hex or pentagon bolts supplied with the plates. mechengineer13 was referring to custom ordered screwd bolts which are only 3/16".

 

Yea, my area is getting hit fairly hard right now. Local sheriff has not been able to catch them yet. However they did catch thieves who stole numerous bronze/copper vases from a local cemetery The recycling center turned them in when they tried to sell them.

Good news, the rear cat plates in 3/16 aluminum are ready for me to pick up tomorrow morning, I plan on going straight to my powder coater and dropping off everything that needs to be powder coated and then home to start packing up plates to send out to some very very delayed orders

 

Any update on the 1/8" steel ones?

It’s only been 3 weeks but Houston seems to be the epicenter of cat theft so excuse my impatience

@Classy63 Tyler, already have the front and rear cat plates, now thinking of adding the front skid plate.
I read back through the last several pages and see all the updates on the cat plates being processed.
Do you have any skids on the shelf ready to go or any being processed right now?
If not, what's the estimated turnaround on the skid plates?

For those of you getting your plates soon, I have a detailed write-up of the install with the pentagon bolts in the attachment to the post here. I purchased the full plate set, including the engine skid, but you can just ignore that portion of the write-up if you only got the cat plates.

 

Diego was nice. You had to watch of for the chickens and all of those damn crabs though. Did you get to see the coconut crabs?

I guess Tyler I’m the only one that did not have you check my order. LOL!! My truck is parked in the garage waiting. LOL.

 

I feel like this is a covert order check though...

 

I can make it pretty simple for all those wondering. Except for the people with 3/16 aluminum and steel that will get plates from the small batches, 1/8 steel and 1/4 aluminum should be cut next week and 3/16 aluminum and 3/16 steel the week after. I want to say these batches will cover everyone into the beginning of August. After those 2 huge batches, it will be back to business as usual and I will be knocking out orders and hopefully building plates to have in stock!

 

Tyler, you should contact KPRC and let them do a story on your work. Imagine making plates for more than just Tundras, you’ll have Jeff Bezos money in no time. The news station keeps telling people to etch vins and spray paint their cat for protection.
