    35/12.5/17 versus 34/10.5/17

    64585171-434A-4618-8C8B-23664E15ACF3.jpg A683BC9D-20F9-4A81-91AE-342493E3D7E5.jpg 37F62E00-03E1-4566-8F8C-E65F6C20EA01.jpg

Quite a difference. Really liked the look of the 35x12.5’s, but with the 34x10.5’s, truck drives better. Feels a lil lighter, in the steering and otherwise. Also plenty of room now with zero chance of rubbing, but like I said before, I had already done some ‘bodywork’ to clear those fatty 35’s. Anyone runnin 35x10.5’s?

Do they make 35x10.5? I'd rock those for sure or even 35x11.5

First of June was a not so interesting time around here and was a prime ex of why politics, covid and tin foil can cause some to take a break. As for @KarmaKannon, his last post gave me the impression that the heavy hand is not something he agreed with and can only hope he reconsiders. He was a positive addition here !

Man, I still haven't decided on tires.
I keep trying to talk myself out of 35s and then someone posts a pic showing how great they look on a FGT.

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I think the 34/10.5/17 looks better. If you were closer, I'd totally take those 34s off your hands :D

Really glad I missed out on that jibber-jabber. See, sometimes taking breaks when life gets in the way can be positive! Had I been here, I probably wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut. Nothing gets me pissed and loose at the fingers like the ignorant, tinfoil-hat-induced idiocy that's festering everywhere right now, and really screwing over several online outlets I've haunted for a dozen-plus years.

I don't know why or how conspiratorial thinking drifted out of the laughable National Enquirer level of illegitimate toilet-worthy farcical BS to being mainstream normal, but I'm ready for it to go back to the shithouse. But anyway, if iron rule is really happening (I didn't see what transpired) I should maybe shutup before I get the banstick too.

the council has been pushing either OGT, BGT, or 1GT. We’re saving FGT for the ‘4th gen’ boys

They do indeed. Specifically the Kenda Kevlar R/T's. Diggin those, so didn't even look to see what other companies are making that size. Had my mind made up but i hadn't even considered 11.5's. thanx @TRDGen.

Ahh, only in 17 so that puts me out. I'd like to get 17s just for more tire size options but to cheap to do it. 35x10.5 I would go for.

    Hear Hear.

1GT, 2GT, 3GT, 4GT. This way we retain our state as the #1 GT. Besides, FGT is both confusing first/fourth and also kinda resembles a slur, even if some folks think that about the 4GT'ers.

Talking from experience, as a vehicular enthusiast and a father:

It was super conflicting for me when the 1st kid got here. I wanted to continue working on the major project I had going on at the time, a '68 LS1/T56-loaded pickup (thread here). It was full-on rolling under its own power and I had just plasma'd out framerails, notches, and begun installing bags while doing other suspension work. then winter hit, I working in a closed garage, welding and torching, occasionally having to drive an infant around after loading her into a freezing cold car because the truck was in the garage (no room for a shop), it wasn't conducive. I wasn't getting enough sleep due to the new kid, I wasn't able to think clearly, work and other responsibilities, doctor visits due to the kids, it all came raining down on me. I was depressed for months. Lost touch with friends. Started drinking more. It was just all-around a bad situation.

I'd only made maybe 30-40 hours of progress during her 1st 10 months on the planet. I had ALL the stuff to do it, I was just so damn depressed by the reality that I couldn't even get 3 hours contiguous work in without having to do some dad duty that I reached out to someone I knew would finish it and I sold it to them, at a pretty significant loss (~10-12k invested, got half that). Worst day of my life. Then #2 came about 9 months later, and I really spiraled out there, finally talked to my primary care doc, who diagnosed with post-partum which (A) I didn't know fathers could get, but apparently is super common, and (B) he believe I probably had since baby #1 and this was a huge part of my issue. No counseling required, some exercises to follow, a few meds to take for 6 months to get my sleep back on track again, and I was good. He also recommended taking on smaller projects, so I ramped up the work I've been doing on vintage bikes, I can complete a whole one in under 10 hours.

Anyway, that's a big f'n TL;DR up there. I'm only sharing because this shit is real, having kids can really change your life, especially if you're man enough to own up to your part, support your woman, and not be a chauvinistic pig who thinks women should handle all that shit alone.

If anything, maybe you should reach out. Check in periodically. It's the one thing I kinda wish someone would've done back then. Just send a note: "Yo dawg, I haven't seen you around as much. Just wanted to check in, make sure you're still kickin', see if you're alright..."

    Just sayin'.

I appreciate that but I would need wheel spacers and shipping might be pretty high on that.
