    Hello

I've got a Sequoia, but the primary reason I git it over the 4Runner was the tow capacity.

I was a little surprised it doesn't come with a brake controller nor any obvious place to install one.

Am I missing something? Do most people tow heavy stuff without brakes? What's a good place to install it?

    The manual is useless...

    Thanks in advance.

If your truck does not have the factory controller, look into the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller. Does not cost much and probably the best one for the $. You can mount it anywhere on the lower dash. There may also be mounting kits that put it in the factory location.

And yes, if the trailer has brakes, you should have a controller so they function.

There is a member that makes a controller cover for the Gen 3. I will post a picture in a little bit. Only way to go IMO.

Yes they do. But let me say this: If you want to support the small business owner, in this case ESP, then buy direct from them (ESP). I can guarantee you Amazon takes a large bite out of the price one purchases a product for, which leaves less money/profit for the small business owner.

I spent hours last night looking for the brake controller connector. Holy crap, why the hell would they make it so difficult to find?

Here's a couple of photos for anyone else who might be looking on a 2021 Sequoia:

I am curious what the other two connectors are intended for. They don't connect to anything.

Some of us like RedArc tow pro elite. Partly because the controller knob is stealth and easy to install. Photo from my Tacoma, don’t have it installed in the Tundra yet.

Thank you for that post! I couldn’t agree more. Earl is a great guy to deal with and super helpful.
Even if I had to pay more, I’d rather support small businesses directly.

Don't have one yet, buying in the next month or two
none. Plan on IconVD Shock system, Icon Wheels, 46 gallon gas tank, Prinsu cab rack, etc.
Hey there guys, not sure if this is allowed or not, so if it is not allowed, sorry.

I just made a YouTube video about a enter mount location in the dash... its pretty easy and way clean. I like it so much better than bashing your knees on it all the time. Anyway, check out they video, like and subscribe if you like them.

I do all sorts of fun Toyota videos. 2004 4Runner and 2008 Tundra mostly.
