There is lots of talk on some of the other Tundra forums about what functions work and what functions don't if you add the aftermarket tow mirrors. It's all about what functions you have now. Here is what I can tell you from my personal experience this morning. If you have an SR5 (or other model I'm sure) with power adjust (not power fold) and heat and you add the tow mirrors from 1A Auto (as well as others I am sure) that have the turn signals and running lights in them, you will retain the power adjust and heat as well as add the turn signals and running lights WITH NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS. Just plug them in and you are good. And this is the way this truck should have come from the factory.

I didn't take pictures but it is a very easy install. It's also easy to break some of the clips on the door panel so be careful. If you search youtube, there are several videos that show how to install them. I broke both of the "push-button" style clips in the upper corners of the door panels. No big deal as I can get replacements on those. However, I also broke one of the clips on the little triangle piece in the corner of the driver door. When you pull off the triangle pieces, start on the outside (part farthest from the truck). The bottom has one of the yellow plastic clips that you won't break. The top has one of those white plastic clips that has "fins" on it and you're not gonna break that one either. The one to worry about is the one that is on the bottom closest to the dash. Once you get the other 2 loose, pull straight back and you'll be ok. If you pull to the side like I did, you will break the plastic tab on the back side of the triangle. I am gluing it back together but will be buying a replacement because I know when I go to swap my speakers it is going to break again and I'll never hear the end of it if someone finds out. :crapstorm:

Take your time and it's an easy swap. Going for a test drive now.

Here's a picture of the piece I broke. It's around $20 from the dealer to replace. This is the one without the speaker in it.

Also, one of the finished product.

Just a few, more to come
Factory set goes for about $600/set, aftermarket copies can be had for about $100/side.

Sparks has them (Toyota to mirrors) for $407. 1A Auto has them $246.45. I went with the Toyota tow mirrors because some people reported vibration with non-Toyota mirrors.

Installation for Toyota mirrors is exactly same as 1A Auto. I love the running light and signal light.

One more thing - if you're adding these to an SR5 (2015) will the mirrors power fold?

These mirrors are not power folding ones. Power folding mirrors are about twice as expensive, and as far as I know, it's plug and play only for those Tundras that came with the power fold option.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
I installed a limited sport mirror with power fold, puddle light, heat and turn signal on my 2012 RW.
The functions that worked were power adjust, heat and turn signal.
The power fold and puddle light did not work. With some additional wiring and upgraded switch you can get these to function. I will be adding a how to at some point for this one.

Interesting information on the tow mirrors, thank you for sharing! Was uncertain on buying them, however after reading this, I'm definitely getting them. Not buying aftermarket, I'm going straight for OEM from Toyota.

How was the test drive?? I was thinking about getting them from 1aauto also, did you have any vibration or abnormal wind noise from these mirrors because they aren't (Toyota OEM) mirrors?
obviously you'll get different wind noise from these because they stick out farther, and I don't see how TRD Sparks sells OEM** tow mirrors for this truck because the 2014's DONT come with tow mirrors.
seems like extra money you spend on something that's SO CALLED OEM. Just saying guy's, seems a little sketchy :ohsnap:

@Bang Bang are your toe mirror oem or from A1? If it's from A1 how is the vibration on it when at high speed? Thanks

@Bang Bang I would also like to know about vibration and noise with the 1AAuto tow mirrors, I was looking these up after watching an install video. The price sounds great compared to OEM.
@XSPX B345t I'm pretty sure what they mean by OEM is that it's a genuine Toyota part not a third party manufacturer like the 1AAuto mirrors. I know that's not what OEM stands for but its a loose term in this case.

So if I buy the tow mirrors I will have turn signal and heat option? I have the sr5 with power adjust and heated option.

If your truck has the tow package from the factory, then yes.

    Sure am.

    http://parts.toyotaofcoolsprings.com/oe-toyota/879400c221

    http://parts.toyotaofcoolsprings.com/oe-toyota/879400c281

Keep in mind, adding the power folding tow mirrors if your truck does not already have that option involves adding a switch and wiring everything up. It's pretty difficult, if you haven't done wiring before.

HOLY CRAP!!! These are Hella cheaper than the ones I've seen. I've seen aftermarket run for $280 (pair) and junk yards want $400 for the OEM pair. I'd much rather pay this for OEM NEW.

Questions for @Roman : I have an SR5, manual folding regular mirrors, will these fit and function like stock, with blinkers, heating, power glass? Also, IF I were to buy through you, roughly how much to ship to socal? Here is a CVS pharmacy's address next to me for reference: 14220 Schleisman Rd, Eastvale, CA 92880

    Correct.

Yep, everything will still work just fine. The only thing that is lost is the Blind Spot Monitors, if you have them.

If you want a shipping quote, simply add the two mirrors to your cart on our site, and input your zip code for a shipping quote. Also, use the discount code SHIP20 to save 20% on the shipping. :)

Could you take the BSM indicator out of the current mirrors and relocate them to the new mirrors? I assume it is just an LED behind the glass. Mark a spot on the new glass and attach the LED?

found really good video on u tube on how to rewire to have power folding mirrors. It doesn't look to hard you have to replace power mirror switch and pull 2 wires for each door to a modular connector. It does look time consuming but doable. Just don't know about spending close to 1000 dollars to have power folding mirrors

Can I add these mirrors to my 2017 SR5 Tundra, I want the puddle light to be used as well s the turn and power adjust, is it really plug n play type and the additional wiring and upgrade switch, all that I can maybe buy from cool springs from Roman!

    Thanks

If I didn't have bsm I'd do this. But, the bsm can be really helpful to keep from crushing little cars hiding on the right side.
