Ah yes, the picture in that article looks very California showing the "$1000 fine for littering" sign with trash piled up beneath it and bumper to bumper traffic

Everytime I drive through California, I'm amazed at how many car parts are on the freeways, it's like a big junkyard.

Here in Seattle we have bum trash everywhere, including on our freeways.

A local politician claimed it's not the bums putting the trash on freeways, but drivers. Like people are throwing tents and pallets out their windows!

Curious how the sequential turn signal looks on truck taillights.
I am caught off-guard every time I see a new Avalon with sequential taillights, it's fancier than you expect a Toyota to be

You math is terrible even at that Most report % off msrp.
    Use a calculator. 50790 - 13.830% = 43765 $ off MSRP was/is 13.830%. Sorry u can't comprehend but no need to reply again cause I am done w/your posts

Yeah, I think they mentioned it's definitely a full sized truck after comparing it's size to the lane it's in or cars next to it.

At the time there was $1500 factory rebate. Bought just before the shortage really hit, Sad part is I sold a 2017 F150 sport to buy the Tundra and got Kbb @ $29900. That truck today is around $39000. Sell low-buy low/sell high-buy high oh well

    Original price: 53,790
    Price paid: 43,675
    Discount: 7,115
    Discount %: 7115/53,790

    That's 13.83%.

Your 86.17% is the price paid as a percentage of the MSRP.

    That, and .86168 x 100 = 86.168

Ok. Follow me here. I believe in you!

    43675/50790 = 0.861.

    That means 43675 is 86.1% of 50790.

    100%-86.1%=13.9%.

Thus, he saved 13.9% of MSRP. This is equivalent to saying his price was 86.1% of MSRP.

Your first error was 0.861 x 100 ≠ 8.61. It is 86.1. Move the decimal over once for every power of 10 you’re multiplying by. So we move it twice when multiplying by 100.

Yikes. I might have started this but I now know what I set out to learn: The comparable, transferrable, useable, interchangeable info is the amount of discount he got was 11%. That's is $7115 off so with the rebate subtracted he got $5615 off (the amount without using the rebate) of a 50790 MSRP. Might be tough to get that right now but it's useful info nonetheless (and worth the show!). Thanks!

I'm always amazed at the focus on rebates. I told the dealer, you can call it whatever you want, but this is what I'll pay. Same with the "document fee". They said they never waive that. Cool, just take another $250 off the price and I'll happily pay your $250 document fee.

Exactly. The only number I’m concerned with is the out-the-door price. Don’t care how you get there. Once that’s settled then we’ll talk about how I’m paying for it.

I don't care about otd price. Otd is affected by so many things.

I care about the actual sale price of the vehicle.

You can't go in and say "I don't want to pay any more than $xx otd" you need to figure max actual price you're willing to pay, then factor in taxes, fees, registration yourself. If you leave that up to the dealership, they'll try and pull a fast one on you
