After all of this go around, I still want to know what the hell's rattling around in there. I'm betting it's a loose nut, now if it were a wire nut, that might a much more serious problem. There's what, 2 maybe 4 screws pull 'em, the end cap usually pops off.
Who else wants to find out, what the hell's a rattling around in there!
After reading all of these posts, "I gots ta know"

shoot I’ll pitch in $100 and the 15% re-stock fee if he just opens it up. I’m sure we can all pitch in a go fund me so he can make his $260 back for the light bar

I think @Caliraisedled should buy the bar back and then make a disassembly video, but they skip to a different light bar fully taken apart and a random piece from their shop used to show the rattle culprit. It would be on par with their instructional videos.

I've filed a dispute with my credit card company, so I need to wait and see how that plays out before I take anything apart. I'll video it if/when I do.

Best of luck, I regret not doing the same back when I started my now over 7 month back and forth with them over rock sliders that didn’t have the correct hardware to start, and continued with nothing but install issues. I’m still promised a final resolution but I won’t be recommending or buying a single product from them now.

Hopefully it works out with the CC claim. I read the whole thread, the rattle would have annoyed me, period.

I can not wait to see what is rattling in there, and see what @Caliraisedled considers acceptable. @helidave Please don't send it back at this point, as said earlier I'm sure a lot of us would be willing to pitch in if your credit card company doesn't come through. @Caliraisedled really dropped the ball here by not just apologizing, and issuing a refund, and letting it get this big. They're gonna end up losing much more money in business than they would have if they would have just made it right. Honestly, if they had just made it right by issuing a refund, I'm sure a lot of us that were on the fence about purchasing something from them would have pulled the trigger and bought from them.

Are your light bars supposed to rattle like the OP claims you all told him they are?

Out of curiosity, I went back and looked at @Caliraisedled post history - and I saw they have actually been posting promotional info, and commenting on other posts for almost two weeks before they addressed this post. I have a hard time believing that Nolan is going to do anything more than positive promotional stuff.

I don't think anyone who has read this thread will say that Cali Raised couldn't have handled it better. There is definitely room for improvement, the refund should have been on offer after the first replacement, and at the absolute least it should have been very clearly conveyed that if a second replacement was opted for over the refund that there would be a restock fee and shipping charges applied if a refund was requested. 99% of customers don't care what the policy is and such as long as it is communicated clearly and up front. It's those "gotcha!" kind of policies that will cause an instant piss off for lots of people. Basically, the question here is whether or not it was disclosed that only two swaps would be done and that a refund after that would be at the customer's expense. Like the policy or not, if it was conveyed, I can't blame a business for following it.

I'm not entirely ready to burn the bridge with Cali Raised, as there is a vast majority of customers that have had good experiences. I know that they've been accused of "white knighting" for the company, but their experiences and interactions are no less valid. No company is perfect, and most customers aren't. Anyone that has worked in customer service, retail, or a public facing job knows that a lot of times it seems like people are looking for a reason to be unhappy with something in hopes of getting a discount or freebie.

How were the phone interactions? Was the customer automatically hostile? Were they aggressive or demanding? All these are things that come into play in a businesses response to a situation. Now, from what I can tell (I've not dug real deep) it doesn't appear that OP was particularly terrible. Point for the customer. Did the business follow their policies that were agreed to at the time of the sale? If they did, even if it's not the greatest policy, I can't really find them at fault here. Sure, it'd be nice if there could be multiple returns and then a refund at no cost to the consumer, but I also see how that isn't going to be a profitable business model.

Anyway, just kinda thinking out loud here.

Just throwing my $.02 in, after watching/listening to the video IMO that light will prolly break or fall apart pretty quickly.
Vehicles travel 10s of 1000s of miles on/off road, not to mention the vibrations from the drivetrain cause alotta wear and tear on chit.

    So unfortunately true.

I am still considering buying a set of 3.5" lights off them. I want to fill some fog light holes and that's the perfect size. If they rattle I'm never gonna know from the driver seat, and if they light up they are doing what I need them to do.

I agree with what you're saying, and while the customer service is a big red flag for me - I'm more concerned about what is acceptable for them in the form of quality control.

https://caliraisedled.com/pages/returns Their return policy is pretty generic, and their "contact" portal won't even load for me. The policy doesn't mention anything about defective returns/warranty claims and how those transactions are handled. -1 point for the vendor.

While you're catching up, check around and find out what happened to the original defective unit. Was it tossed into a dumpster, or tossed back into stock? Did anyone say "Gee, this came back as defective. Let's find out why?" If you're buying from an outside supplier, did anyone think this might be a quality control issue, or was it "We've got his money, just send another one. It'll probably be ok." Rattling inside an electrical box means wires that are under stress. Wires under stress break. Wires that break can cause short circuits. Short circuits can be rather nasty. It shouldn't be up to the customer to repair your product before it's even installed.

Standing behind your products includes finding out what's causing, or could cause, a failure.

The situation was addressed, but not handled. There's a big difference. You are correct that a public forum is not the quickest way to resolve an issue, but when a company refuses to offer an equitable resolution (equitable for the consumer, not the company) a public forum can be the only viable way to receive redress for an issue. You are also correct that the customer can send the items back, but only for a partial refund and only at his own expense. You get a resellable product, a small profit, and the customer takes the hit. Actions like this damage your brand and alienate customer, and that is, by any definition, a poor business practice.

    That's all very well put.

The ONLY part I sympathize with Nolan on is that he may have been told by his bosses that he's not allowed to address this issue as the company/bosses feel it's been handled. This sympathy is for the employee in a bad spot, not for the companies poor performance in this particular case.

If this is how they handle a little problem I’d hate to think what happens when there is a big problem. Was considering some ditch light mounts from them but after this I’m good.

This is the only major bumble I'm seeing. There are others that have had issues that were resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner. Is this one egregious enough to write them off?

Full discloscure: I'm trying really hard to not write them off, because I want their bed rack and they've been recommended by many.

Telling OP his rattling light is gtg and to pound sand or pay shipping and a restocking fee?? Then come on the forum to stick by their BS position only to abandoned the thread without further comment? This is not the first thread they’ve abandoned - the other ones were threads they started promoting their products. People asked questions about the products and get no answer for a year - then they post not to apologize or answer questions but to promote their next product.

Not someone I’ll do business with. Maybe I’m just a snowflake. :notsure:

I've bought their ditch light kit. The brackets were great, but the wiring harness, push button, and pods were the same shit you get from Amazon, for a little bit higher price.
