3.5 out of a modern Toyota. With the bolt ons and a tune 300 hp to the wheels is easy

The oil lines for the turbos on the 2.5 had banjo bolts that had small screen filters in them. The small screens would clog up and starve the turbos of oil causing premature failure. Frequent oil changes were a must, cleaning all of the banjo bolts screens was a great preventative measure as well. Very few did this.

Thank you for the explanation. :hattip:

My experience was all with the 2015+ 2.0s so the only design "flaw" was the EPA mandated BS of an EGR on a port injected engine. Carbon fouling of the valves could be an issue, and ironically one that made the car worse for the environment long term than if the left the EGR off to start with. That's your tax dollars at work though. Tripping over dollars to save pennies.

And EGR delete with a mild tune was in the near future for mine before it was snow locked for 4 months and I realized I NEED a body on frame truck to live where I do. Still miss it and wish I had kept it.

3.5 2gr-FE is lighter than the stock 3s engine in the mr2, more powerful, with dual VVTI that manages a very broad power band. bolt ons get to 300whp pretty easy these days with modified stock ECUs and they sound fucking sexy

True enough on the sober part. It's rare enough to be hipster, but there are too many of us Turd Gens for that to work. Then again, the hilarious irony of hipsters is that their desire to be different makes them all the same and causes the things they like to be mainstream... I think the saving grace from the hipster label is that the Tundra itself, regardless of generation, is not mainstream. Oh no..... does this mean... we are ALL the TRUE hipsters? :goingcrazy:

I have a wandering eye and no allegiance to any brand of anything.
Certifiable car-nut, but I've bounced from VW to Audi to BMW to GM-powered BMW to Porsche all the while occasionally owning a civic (trade bait that I had for ~2 weeks), 3 XJs, a 3rd Gen T4R, the FGT, and some others I don't presently recall.
I wish I could just settle down and keep one project and one DD for years....but history says I certainly won't. The 911 isn't going anywhere unless I ball it up. The FGT is always a little bit for sale.

I'm on my 3rd Toyota. Had a Ford once. I can't see myself in anything else unless I have multiple vehicles.

I think the last time I was down to just one vehicle is when my wife and I first got together in 2004. I was rolling around in a mkII VW GTi back in those days.

Don't you love it when your BT shit goes all wonky? I can't tell if it's my deck(lol) or my phone, but they're not playing nice. My music is playing, but the deck(lol) isn't controlling it. And half the time it'll tell me the song, but only the 1st I play, then it just stays on that song as songs change. What do yall think; is my deck(lol) crapping out?

It's that awful music choice. Put on some Hank or Waylon & Willie and everything will be fine.

I'm going to guess there's just an incompatibility with an upgrade your phone received. Check to see if Kenwood has a firmware upgrade for your radio.

I know anything newer than 2019 won't work with the radio in my Durango.

Hmmm, that seems feasible. That radio is a few years old, can you update it?

Maybe, search for firmware update for whatever radio model you have. Typically you'll download it to a USB and go through the settings to update it

Kelly and I are stopped in Georgetown, KY on our way to Red River Gorge.
This whole GD town closes at 20:00.

it shouldn’t be this hard to grab a burrito or a sandwich.

Is this all some kind of code/dirty talk? I mean, I picked up on the "KY", and I can imagine that "Red River Gorge" is a once a month seasonal attraction, but not sure why you'd be surprised that "KY" is making things hard to grab.
