What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I'm a bit of a chicken, so I sent mine to powder coat. They'll have to sit in the garage until I convince the CFO we need new tires (moving from 18's to 20's). Would have been an easier argument if I'd not spent $$ getting them painted. Plus, to your point, what if I get 2 years in and decide I'd like pink or green?.. I suppose I could still plasti-dip over the powder, but I'd get a demerit and a weeks-long list of chores. Still, though; pink on Smoked Mesquite...

 

Tundra and SR5 badges gone. Engine badge replaced with a red accented one.

 

Got tired of my small cans not fitting so I 3D printed some inserts. I had run out of black filament so I used red and white.

 

Got the Timbren active off-road bump stops installed!

 

Took delivery of my truck today and headed straight to my automotive shop and scheduled a lift kit install. Yesterday ordered a full audio package from Tech12Volts. Going to wait until lift is installed and see what tires I want to go with. Thinking a 34x12.5 in KO2. Also ordering the colored matched grill and bumper caps from paintedoemparts.com. Just have to time everything so that my shipments don’t get here until week after next when I’m back in town to greet the arrival of my goodies.

 

I’m beating a dead horse, but do these work with the smart key? I’ve seen yes, site says no

 

That's a hard no. They do not have the requisite sensor and wiring harness.

Unrelated, but I lived in MKE from '94-'98 while going to MSOE. First was in the dorms, then moved to the corner of Oakland and Lafayette (near Koppa's and what was Fuel Cafe).

295/70r17. Just fat 33s.

 

They look good. Look beefier than my 295/70-18

 

3/1.5 lift and CMC. Waiting for 295/70/18 Toyo Open Country A/T III to come back in stock. My new wheel tire combo should be a 1.5lb lighter than stock at each corner.

 

Finally broke down and got a pro grill. Pre owned and came with clearance lites. Thanks again @iHacker. Had a platinum with matching surround but was just way too much silver.

 

Finally put the flares back on to cover up the lines. Put protective film
On this time. And matching bolts from icon rebounds

 

Installing today: Rough Country 6” lift kit with front & rear Vertex coil over/reservoir shocks, Coach Builder steering & drop carrier kit, Jomax front sway bar end link,Hostile Rage rims: 20/10/-19, Arturo MT: 35/12.5/20

What wheels are you going with?

 

good luck with rubbing. i had a 6" lift with 35.5" tall and 12.8" wide and had a bumper spacer and BMC. wheels were same specs as yours too.

 

Thanks I did 3/4” bumper spacer, removed front fender well back mud flaps. If need will do BMC

 

Interested in hearing more about these. Where they easy to install and if so what’s your latest evaluation on them?

went tinted bronze, which turned out awesome with the smoked mesquite Tundra

 

Man, love the look of these Bakflip just can’t get past the price since I’m considering new lift, wheels and tires.
