Switched all interior & exterior lights to LED. Added NSV light bar! More to come….. :D
Just to preface… I’m not mechanically inclined… I have to learn as I go… so I may use the wrong terminology throughout this! Let me know if I need to clarify anything!

    I have a 2017 Tundra 1794 Ed.
I recently installed the NSV light bar and noticed that after installation the driver side turn signal began running at all times like a parking light.
(They only worked as turn and hazard before)
I noticed on the back of both original turn signal plugs the are three slots and only two wires. The NSV harness on the drivers side has 3 wires. Also, I just installed a set of switchback bulbs in place of the old amber bulbs. I would like to get the passenger side working as an “always on” light so I can utilize my switchbacks.
    Thanks for any help!!

Let me get this straight, you installed an NSV lightbar... somehow causing a turn signal to malfunction, now you want the other turnsignal to malfunction to match?

Yeah, I'm a little confused by this as well.

I don't know about this "malfunction junction" but there is another thread related to turn signal issues after installing the NSV. Me personally I can't justify a grand for a light bar that you can't even use without high beams.

    Sorry for the confusion guys!
I don’t think the NSV caused it to “malfunction” per se. It seems to me that it was just a feature my truck had but wasn’t wired for originally. Once I installed the NSV harness the driver side became wired(blue wire) to allow the blinker to become a parking or DLR light while not in use. I guess what my question really needs to be is: how can I wire the passenger side to do the same? What is the blue wire and what is its function?

Thanks! I read through some and didn’t see anything that was talking about the same thing I am, but I could have missed it. I will look through again!

I’ve had it a little over a month and I am more than happy with it! I see a lot of people say that, but I just can’t think of and haven’t had a situation where I needed the light bar without my high beams. Any time I’m using the light bar I’m looking for extreme light output so I prefer it to be on with the high beams. It makes it a bit more convenient to me.

In the picture you show (with 3 wires) you can clearly see the bulb type as a 4157NAK (Natural Amber Krypton I believe). This is a dual filament bulb with a slightly different pinout than a 4157 (if I remember right). The wires correspond to ground, filament/light 1, filament/light 2.

I'm guessing your NSV lightbar added that harness socket in lieu of the old 2 wire one? Since I'm not familiar with the NSV lightbar, I can't tell you why they would tap in there, I'd have to look into it.

Just watched the install video on HLR. They talk about cutting the wire and capping it for certain newer LED headlights. That explains why you now have DRL on that side, the lightbar is feeding power(or providing ground, depends on how the circuit is wired) to the secondary filament. The whole purpose of this thread was that you wanted the otherside to have DRL also now, correct? If so, you could theoretically tap the blue wire and run a feeder over to the other light socket, which you will either have to replace or modify to the 3-wire type. I say theoretically because we don't know if the circuit thru the NSV is rated for the additional load, chances are it'd be fine. BUT, ymmv.
