Found a guy that is parting out a 2010 with 135k on it. Its got a trd cai on it. I'm wondering if it's worth making him an offer for it. Anyone know what I should offer him for it?

Supposedly they improve performance a little. I've heard a few guys say that they improve mom's a little to. Not sure if either are true, but the trd is the only one that doesn't causes it to throw codes.

I've read about 90% of the people on here with CIA say that they don't increase anything you'll notice..

That's what I was thinking Joon! Do you think it'll make any difference?

I thought that was the consensus about aftermarket, but not the trd?

Probably not much. But for $50-70, the cool factor would be worth it. :D

HonestY if you think about it, TRD or not they're doing the same thing, and just because Toyota makes one that would be that much better than the rest, that means the rest of the Brands are doing something seriously wrong. I doubt that's the case..

I'll have to look around on here. If I remember right, the trd is the only one that is actually a "cold air intake" just like stock. Only it flows better. The aftermarket ones are actually pulling hot air from the engine compartment. Probably why they cause codes.

If I can get it for $50 it might be worth trying it out. If not I can sell it to Joon when he drives out to Denver for the meet this Sunday.
