I received a new TRD PRO grill and one of the long alignment tabs/clips is broken. Is this going to be an issue or not? Sparks says it's no issue but I'm sure it's there for a reason

If its one of the tabs that hold the grille onto the painted bumper piece, no. If its the post that holds the grille onto the truck, yes.

It's one of the long posts under the headlight. There is only one on each side.

So those are for alignment and for securing it. When you remove the grille it’s clear that they’re a main fixture point since they’re the hardest to remove.

The grille will mount without it but it will rattle a bit, basically you have the top screws and bottom push pins. The pins are looser than screws so the bottom shakes even with the posts. Without the posts it will shake more.

Pretty sure those long alignment pins do not snap in. They are just for ease of guiding everything into its proper place. The other snap in mounting points in the front will hold it just fine.

They have a lip on them, it’s a fixture point. I’ve swapped mine twice now it’s the hardest part to pop loose.

I’ve also done mine twice. I think he’s just talking about the long alignment pin. That’s just to help guide you so all the snap pins will line up. A picture would help from the OP

Sorry, my mistake, the tab Im referring to is the one on the grille surround. @alien8 the posts on the grille are indeed just for alignment, I just double checked on my old grille.

Damn, that pin is to hold the bottom into position. Do you have the broken clip?

I do have the broken piece and guess I could epoxy it back on but was afraid it may get to thick and not clip like it should

As long as you don't get any epoxy on the lip or the ridge that clips onto the grill then I'm sure it'll be fine. I'd say let it cure fully before as vibration and what not may affect it...

Its just my personal opinion, but I just order the full grille setup from sparks and If it came in broke in any form I wouldnt be pleased about it and would expect a return. 8xx$ is too much to spend on something that isnt in new condition. Again, just my opinion, but i overthink everything.

I'd agree with this statement. That's one reason why I went with a local dealership that sells parts online. Would rather pick it up and have peace of mind.

You'll need those if you ever get fiberglass fenders
