So I just got my hands on a 2021 tundra and I was looking to lift it a few inches. I ordered a mammoth 3 inch spacer kit, but the more I read I see they are not a good idea. I've been looking at the bilstiens which would be a suspension lift. If I go that route will I need control arms aswell? Any suggestions welcome.

Are you going to be off-roading? I have the Rough country spacer kit from dealer and it works great for me, I don’t go off the beaten path much

Yes it's 4x4 I don't plan to off road, it's my daily driver. I will be using it to tow my jetskis around but that's about it.

You’ll be fine with spacer kit, mine is daily driver as well! I pull a 7x14 trailer with my mower and side by side! Don’t go crazy spending money if all your looking for is looks

Not trying to hijack the thread, but Im looking for the same info. Ill occasionally be offroad and have been eyeing the toytec boss 2.5 kit, but not sure about 2 factors. Is it worth investing extra into to have a rebuildable shock setup and the rear lift? I need a little rake as I tow. Should I do shackles and add a leaf? Also want a comfortable ride on road.

I plan on putting 3 inch wheel spacers aswell it's only for looks. I Wana eventually upgrade just for the smooth ride but at the moment I don't have 1000 bucks lol the spacers just seemed like a good option till I saved up.

@Unholysinz wheel spacers look great and I’d love to do it as well but man I can’t see sandblasting the side of a $50k + truck…here in the northeast the salt and grime would tear my shiny black paint up lol

ToyTec Boss installed over a year ago..off road a lot, and tow a fair amount, 5500-6000 lb boat..Front at 3inches rear at 1.5 factory leafs no problems..tough to beat for the price!

You should be able to get a good alignment as long as you run the same tire. If you go bigger I'd get the UCAs too.

Are you looking at a 3" spacers for the coils or 3" spacers for the wheels?

I looked into this heavily too, I went with rebuildable because I plan on keeping the truck for a long time and don't plan on changing up the suspension from what I have. If your lift will only be temporarily until you get a larger one or more expensive one then you don't need to worry about rebuildable.

I have always been in the buy once cry once camp. I may just look into a king or icon setup. I believe this one is going to be a keeper.

I went stage 8 icon with the SPC UCAs because I didn't want the tubular ones icon offered and didn't want to bump up to billet. Haven't gotten my larger tires on yet as the lift is only a week old but I'm enjoying the ride quality.

Did you install yourself or have it installed? Ive installed suspension lifts on my chevys, but im a little apprehensive of tearing into my new truck. Was curious of a ballpark on shop hours if you happen to know?

Why do you want 3 inches of lift?

Are you prepared to replace your control arms?

Are you prepared to make geometry corrections to all the other components that changed?

There are a ton of threads discussing lift and what should be done if you go 3 inches or more. I suggest searching and reading up on all that is involved.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/what’s-the-best-3-inch-lift.74471/

    https://www.tundras.com/search/4324586/?q=3+inch+lift&t=post&o=date&c[title_only]=1

2.5 inch level kit would give you clearance for 33s, and depending on the tire, some claim no rub on 35s.

I am just guessing here that your looking to lift for a bigger tire since you truck is a pavement princess. (Mine is also).

I had a shop install it because my time is short to do these kinds of things now and they offered a warranty. Big mistake, I should have just done it on my own and took it somewhere for an alignment. Not only did they install the shocks on the rear backwards but they aren't even the shocks I ordered. Went back and forth with them for a week before they agreed to order the right ones. Now I have to wait for them to come in and take it back to get them replaced. Huge headache. The install would have taken me an afternoon with a friend's help, if your lifting under 3" install is super easy.

Sorry it was confusing because their are spacers that go on top of the coilovers that give lift and their are spacers that go on the wheel hubs that push the wheels further out. It sounded like you had both but I wasn't sure.

Yes it's a pavement princess, it's all for looks. I did see that I needed a few spacers for the front and rear for the truck to keep the same geometry since it is a 4x4. I am prepared to make any changes needed but I am new to all this I drove a car for 15 years so this is my first truck lol. So I want to make sure I switch out what ever is needed.

If you're never gonna go off road then it's really up to you. Spacers will work and ride quality will only go down slightly. If you want improved ride quality you can go with a full suspension lift but it's exponentially more expensive

3 in the front 1.5 in the rear… factory control arms with an alignment all is good! Put the lift on at 115k now at 130k.

So the other question I guess is budget. What are you willing to pay? That will help the more knowledgeable on here help you get the best results from your available budget.

I personally went with the TeraFlex FalconSport Tow/Haul 2.25" leveling suspension kit for the Tundra - with firmness adjustment in the rear for better towing cost me around 3k for the system, install, and alignment. Rides better than stock (improved cornering, no nose dive under heavy braking) I'm level, no rub on my 33s, and I should be able to tow more comfortably with less sag.

I was thinking of spending around 1500 tops with control arms if possible.
