So this is my second post and I’m sure this is will not be the dumbest but here it goes anyways.

Yesterday I noticed my parking lights would not turn off. I’ve checkEd all the doors, steering column settings, dash settings; everything I could think of that would keep them on. Honestly this is a new one for me as I have experienced a host mechanical issues throughout the years.

My truck is a 2019 SR5 TRD Offroad and I’ve had great success with this truck so far. I still get the occasional “depressing the brake and accelerator at the same time” warning despite not actually doing that but it’s occasional and an issue for another day.

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

I turned off all the lights so not even the day time running lights are on.

I’ve been reading about relays and switches and fuses but I’m not an electrical guy by any stretch.

When you turn the truck off and set the alarm/lock the doors, do they turn off then?

No. I disconnected the battery and set up an appointment at the dealer. This is just a major pain in the ass having a very needy 3 month old and with both my wife and I working it’s basically impossible to get anything done.

    Ouch- sorry.
That’s not normal behavior- you’re plan to get it in is about all you can do.

Do you have any aftermarket wiring such as an alarm?

No, nothing aftermarket yet. The alarm system and remote start were OEM from Toyota, there's nothing attached to the trailer harness nor have I ever used it. I was going to install an engine block heater and electronic lock for the tailgate this fall.

Just confirming, you are talking parking lights, so front and rear parking lights always stay on when truck is running? or is it just the front parking lights?

no just the rear tail lights stay on as well as the third light above the bed. Also a new development I experienced this morning on my way to work. I kept getting warnings saying that I was depressing the brake and accelerator at the same time and the transmission seemed like it was riding hard also. There are some major electrical issues happening.

So the brake lights are stuck on? I would check the brake light switch at the pedal.

Where is that located? Would that explain the issues with the brake/accelerator warning and transmission issues?

Totally could make that happen. The switch should be on the arm of the brake pedal under the dash. Pull up on the brake pedal to see if the lights turn off.

So picking up the Truck today, I was told that the computer had no codes to check and that the brake switch down by the peddle in intact and working just fine. I was relieved that I did have the lights in the off position (making me feel less dumb) and the settings such that the taillights should never have stayed on however they cannot find a direct cause for the issue and it could not be duplicated. The service tech said that if the issue persists or comes up again to take pictures of all the lights settings and to try and video the Accelerator/Brake warning to the best and safest ability I can. I was told my truck is in spectacular condition aside from a couple scratches in the paint and stains on the seats which could be mostly gotten rid of with some elbow grease and love.

Considering trading it in though for a new 2022 when they come out given I can fetch reasonable price for mine on the trade. Thanks for all the help and suggestions, this is a great community and reference for novices like myself.
