Alright folks, my Tundra was supposed to be delivered 8\3. 2 days before I received a text from my salesman stating everything was on course and delivery was as expected. The morning of the delivery I get a phone call stating the truck would be delayed due to "COVID" related shipping issues.
Opinion, did they get my truck and sell it for money or is this an honest statement? I’m 2 hours away from the dealership so I can’t just scoot over and ask questions.

Have you called to ask for the new delivery date? No one here is going to know the answer but assuming you paid a deposit and had a build assigned I highly doubt they’d sell it out from under you.

Was the truck already purchased and you have the VIN? Salesman and GM's don't know shit when it comes to delivery. Every dealership has an Inventory manager....that's who you need to speak with. I went through this with mine last August.

No VIN but I have the stock #. Inventory manager is a good idea, never thought of it. I did put a deposit down and have already filled out the whole application on line so I’m hoping it really is a shipping issue.

It is probably a shipping issue. Mine was delayed twice in mid May because there is a terrible shortage of truck drivers to transport. I think mine ended up being 17 days late from their initial date range.

Yep. Real delays everywhere, especially on built to order. If you bail, you’ll miss this one, and have no better luck with another.

Ohh, not bailing. Waited way to long for this. I’ve had every brand of truck in the past 12 years. Ram and Toyota were the best, Ram just refuses to get rid of the fu*&king turning play school shift knob. Tundra has always been my 2nd, wish they had overhauled by now but it is what it is. I’m incredibly happy with my, not yet purchased, purchase.

Shipping and delivery right now is a terrible weak spot in our economy.

I don’t know if it’s a demand excess, supply shortage, or just not enough truckers, longshoremen, or what.. but it’s real.

I am in health care, and our food deliveries have twice been canceled due to no truckers to deliver. That’s serious shit when you have 50-80 people to feed, and you don’t know when the food is coming.

Hang tight. You’re truck is probably really just delayed.

So just talked to dealer, apparently the entire industry is a mess right now. I have a truck reserved, just no delivery date. Talked to a buddy and found out Ram is pumping out classic 1500"s because they have a huge cache of parts to build them.

So I dumped my Jacksonville dealer, I was asking a lot of questions and getting very vague answers. Going through my local Orlando dealer, walked in and told them what I wanted. Salesman comes back 5 minutes later and hands me the spread sheet on the exact truck I’m looking for. Says it will be delivered in 25 days. Wish me luck..
