After getting tired of spending my free time wrenching on my Silverado I broke down and bought a Tundra after seeing the reliability my wifes 2 Toyotas have had. So far Im 17k miles into ownership and Im loving it. I figured this would be a good place to give me ideas on how to drain my bank account and make my wife learn to hate me.

Congrats on the move to Toyota.

Having came from a Chevy myself - I fortunately never experienced many issues with GM - but mine was a 2012. Hearing a lot of stories from 2017-forward with issues. Part of it is expectation vs reality - but there’s got to be some issues too.

As far as how to spend money - place is good for that….only question is what do YOU want ? Dirty Deeds exhaust is nice, cosmetics- do you like the chrome ? Of not a chrome delete is a doable mod and not super pricey.

Lift from Coachbuilder - speaker upgrade from Tech12Volts…a lot of options out there that are popular - it’s just individual taste.

Next to Harleys and Jeeps - I think Toyota’s as the most modded vehicle I have been around - lots of options at a variety of prices.

Welcome and great color! Looks like you already upgraded the wheels. I would suggest some TRD Pro headlights next, i replaced my stock halogens and its been worth every penny!

The Chevy has been strong in the motor and trans department as its at 220k on the originals. Its been the 4wd and any kind of electrical issues you can think of. Has made me good at problem solving though. As far as the Tundra goes Im looking at suspension lifts now. Leaning more towards a 3inch kit, Have been eyeing the Toytec boss, but to be honest its purely based on aesthetics. Im looking for something that will give me a good ride quality along with a little more clearance.

Im def doing the LED swap. Do you have to use resistors if you swap the headlights out?

Probably not far off from me. Im in the very corner of NE AL. What size of the DD exhaust did you go with? Ive been considering the 8inch.

You do not need resistors, but you will need an additional harness to use with the stock wiring. Its around 100 bucks, check the forum for the ihacker harness. He is a great guy to deal with and the quality is awesome. Pretty much a direct swap with the headlights you have and that harness.

I was considering a Chevy after almost giving up finding the tundra with the features I wanted. I like the look of them but decided against it after researching the DFM engine. Too many complicated parts in that engine for me to believe it’ll last 20 years or 200,000 miles.

Same, I really liked the AT4, but my buddy's brother bought one mid pandemic and its been back to the dealership for 2 stays long enough to warrant a loaner. To be honest it was the interior I liked myself, but Im ok with less creature comforts that will inevitably go bad.

2006 I have a soft spot for the "cat eye" models. Still think its a nice looking truck if you can get past the fact its been worked hard the entire time Ive owned it.
