After TONS of searching, it seems like there isn't a single soul out there who has posted feedback on long tubes for the VVTI engine.

    What's ordered:

    Long Tube Headers
    Mid Pipes
    Air pump blocking plate
Hewitt Technologies Air Pump bypass module
    12 Hole injectors.

    Total cost: $1600+

Will be paring up with the stock muffler. This is on a Sequoia.

Very excited to see real world results in terms of sound, power, gas mileage. Even if I net 0hp and 0mpg gain. I don't care, at least in my head the mystery will be solved.

Now looking at re-gearing... Oh, and also got a set of steel bumpers front and rear from Brute Force Fab.

Now, is there anybody out there running long tube headers on the 4.7 VVTI engine? If so, please chime in... I'll mainly be expecting guys commenting with 5.7's or crickets on that topic.

You have vvti in your corner, bringing more flow at the top. My bassani chamber muffler bugs me a little, but i think i’ll blame the resonator.

After your headers and exhaust are installed install a intake manifold vacuum gauge to measure where peak IM pressure is @ rpm, and gear your truck to be just below there at highway cruise. After getting tires.

Interesting input, thank you. Running on 33" wheel/tire combo. Stock Sequoia has 4.10 gears. Shooting for 4.56. Now the mod bug is biting and I'm figuring I might as well throw a locker in there (2wd)

    You didn’t search hard enough!
I’ve been running long tubes, no cats, true duals(2.5”) on borla cherry bombs.
I’ve got 12port injectors and a rear bumper with swing out, and a topper; I plan on regear before the year is over

you will need o2 extension harness though

Dirty Deeds hooked it up, I believe they're JBA.

What's your feedback on the long tube headers? Increased throttle response? Smoother power delivery?

It’s pretty awesome, it definitely scoots way better and very little throttle needed to accelerate. I’ve been toying with making “reducers” on the tips to get a little more back pressure on the duals, I feel it’s a lil too free flowing if that’s even possible.
I didn’t do the Hewitt bypass because they don’t offer a option for no block off plates. You don’t need to plates if your removing the injection tubes and bypassing the system, I found a Slyfox bypass on T4r but it does the same thing as hewy

You have dbw. The motor decides your throttle response and power delivery.

Ifs funny. If we can find someone willing to tune these computers, that issue would be non existent. After driving a tuned Toyota vehicle, throttle response is on point.

Tuned. Tuned for sea level or 4k ft? Whats the range on a maf engine? Carbs and screwdrivers are where its at. The engine will tell you when to take a break.

No artificial lag from pedal to throttle on opening. Anything other than that is up to nature

Enough said, that's all I need. She's due for spark plugs too so it should be a sweet combo with the injectors and headers. Any other HP/TQ gains will help negate the heavy bumpers front and back.

Super sexy set up. You running full skids? I'm curious how long tubes and DDI duals fit with Skidrow skid plates. Also where'd you get the o2 extension?

I've got the dirty deeds race system ready for my 2005 when I get home.... soon I'll be back in Black (truck). I've been eyeballing a new 3rd member to start the regearing process as well.

Then I just need to move back out to the best coast.

I'm interested to see your results in the meantime.

I have zero skids, but I’m sure skid row should fit, you might need to be the guinea pig!
The o2 extensions; I’d have to look but it’s a company that is all they do, harnesses and extensions
I’ve got it on our 4runner, it’s kinda a gimmick, only really works in open loop and our trucks are only in open loop(actively looking at sensors and using feedback to adjust) at start up and wide open throttle

I read on the URD website that it can be programmed to optimize other performance mods or run on stock. Does your 4runner.have any performance mods? I had considered buying it once I got long tubes and duals, since I already have a smooth intake tube and 12 hole injectors. My only concern was running it with the air injection bypass. I don't know if it would be a good idea to have 2 different systems actively tricking the ECU. There could be unforseen consequences.

I believe it can be “programmed” to your specific mods, but I think that would require a dyno or at least being hooked up to a computer with someone who knows what their doing/looking at. And again how often are you in WOT to make all of that worth it?
I only have a upgraded air box on the 4runner(what the calibrator was sent out tuned for) and a borla cat back.

My truck, stock on 31’s with ?4.10?s is around 3k @ 65 in 3rd. And 2200 @ 70 in 4th. For maximum seat of the pants acceleration and the ability to haul more load and push more wind at 65 i’d need 4.88ish gears. Would put me at 3400rpm in 3rd (with the 4 speed). peak torque is usually at the rpm with the highest pressure inside the intake manifold, and headers, cams, and tunes can shift where peak torque happens.

i havent been to hidden falls or gsl ranch. Gonna wait for my buddy to bring his sxs.
