    Good morning Bryan.

Hopefully you have another spectacular weekend. It’s supposed to rain here. Going to a buddies dads house to drink beers and make knives. That should be a hoot.

One of my friends stopped by last night with his new F-350 Tremor. Damn….

    8415BBFF-135A-436F-8AF6-9B806CB3B2EE.jpg 21782917-E138-4017-B603-C1BA4E8AE84C.jpg

We took it out for a spin. That 7.3L/10 speed combo is pretty smooth.
While we were out dicking off, we came home with these to freshen up my truck. My wheels are getting all pitted out and tires are pretty much gone. On my fourth set of tires in 68k miles.

Good Morning Chris! Those Michelins ought to last a bit longer. The only non-Michelin tires I have had in over 30 years are ones that came OEM, with one short exception. I had some Continentals that were highly rated but generated a slight vibration. I was back in the shop every couple of weeks for 6 months until they finally replaced the whole set. They found that all four tires were just slightly out of round. Never again.

The first two set of tires were Michelin LTX AT2. Where I live, 6/32nds of tire tread is worthless in the winter.

I’m thinking about powder coating my other set of wheels and getting some dedicated winter tires. Leaving this much tread on tires is getting spendy. Been looking at GY Duratrac for winter use.

I wish I had access to a good powder coat shop. The closest one to me that actually knows anything about powder coating is 6 hours away in a direction I never go.

And yes, I forgot about CO winters. That's why I just like to visit up there and not have to live in it!

No doubt! Smart man just coming in the nice months.

6 hours? You must be in the middle of nowhere. In Texas, 6 hours is “oh, just down the road..”

Your buddy picked the best color!
The knife making sounds like a great time and those wheels are going to look great on your truck. How's the progress going on the Jeep?

I imagine our winters are similar to yours and I don't think I would ever try running without winter tires. I had the stock highway Bridgestones on my brand new Tundra from January to April 2020 and it was hairy at best. Though those are obviously not comparable to A/T tires.

Nice months typically are between December and March - we come up to ski! But we generally don't have to worry about the tires on rentals. We DO have to make sure to get 4x4 rentals though. It should be automatic, but it's not.

And we have a couple of places around here that powder coat, but they really don't know what they're doing. And that's in the Mobile metropolitan area with a population of close to 700k! Even Pensacola doesn't have one! I'd have to go to North Alabama to get to the one I found. Just too much hassle.

And yes, I've driven in Texas. Lots of space between things out there!
