Still working on camping gear, so I'm only good for day trips atm anyways. I'll keep my eye on the thread to see who's doing what and when. @Kgfit85 lives around the hill from me was looking for some other Tundies to go and get dirty with too.

thanks @Gravy for tagging me into this group! I should be getting my tent late this week or early next week. I’m always down to get dirty! August is a money month for me so I might be limited to free time

@Gravy most keep the trail runs under wraps because there so many people and only so many can fit on a trail at one time.

If you don’t have a trail planned, as many probably don’t, feel free to chime in and create a run :)
There will be many looking for trails and groups to go with!

I'm more familiar with the trails near the bottom of the mountain, and then it's been ages since I've been on most. I'd have to go scout some and maybe I can come up with something interesting.

We should plan the Mojave trail run. It’s a 2 day trip. I’m planning on running it in November. With the drought the water crossing shouldn’t be bad at all lol

    2 months away.

I’ve had no luck with a bbq sponsor.

I’m thinking of buying a 36” flat grill and grilling burgers for everyone. If I do this, I might need help grilling.

Are any of you guys good at flipping burgers?

Yeah, I could take a shift. If a few of us took short shifts, we could keep the food going, and no one miss out on the dinner interaction, which is when people that don’t run trails together get to catch up.

Open to this, Oscar? I’d help you get this organized if that takes some pressure off. Lmk.

Sub'd, I've been following on the TW side of thangs.

EDIT: I'll be in Spot #19 if "Stretch" isn't glaringly obvious.

I love my camp chef silverado double burner with the flattop griddle. but that damn griddle weighs as much as the double stove. I also have a single burner version.

BTW I have been a boyscout leader for over 15 years so I have collected lots of camping gear and camp cooking gear over the years.

    Thanks! I appreciate the help.
I don’t find organizing SanG stressful. But I will take all the help I can get.
I have 3 other guys on TW that will also help with cooking shifts.

Bob!! How long have you been on this side of the tracks?
Thank you! I have tables and I plan on picking up a 36” flat grill that I’ll take.

    Thanks!!
That would be perfect with two of these we should knock out the grilling in no time.

    Wow,
I wasn’t sure what we were going to do about the bbq but why not come together and do it ourselves.

    I really appreciate you guys.

I have a 5’ long grill if needed. It’ll feed a village. Kinda heavy but I’ll bring it if you all need it.

    Are there spaces left?

awe no more spaces left. I’ll still swing by. Lots of primitive sites around there.

    I need some feedback.
I'm working on my budget for the Saturday BBQ. Burgers, chips, & fixings. Bring your own drinks...

I'm doing my TW math 54 sites 2 cars per site or 4 people per site that would be 216 people estimated.

Some sites will have kids, some sites will have their own food & some people will show for the day.

I'm thinking 250 burgers should be enough. What do you guys think?

I think 250 sounds great! If we get hungry, e can drink more! :drunk:

My group will be donating a couple of new-in-the-box items for raffle. Maybe someone planning to attend has ties to a business that could donate flats of small bags of chips, or bottled water, whatever.

I’m not soliciting donations, per se, just suggesting that anyone with access to quantity items to donate could do…, we may be able to kind of “stone soup” this into the usual party, but without all the costs falling on you, Oskar.

Anyway… no one need respond here. But if you have anything to donate, give Oskar a heads up.

I was pricing everything at Costco the other day. We should be fine. I just want to make sure we have enough and I’m not bringing back a box of burgers.

It's a free Family dinner, The raffle will be free and the t-shirts will be free. All you guys have to do is buy your campsite or just show up for the BBQ.

We do this for our friends and to make new friends.
