I love the aesthetics of it; came stock on my TRD Pro.

Almost bought a Platinum for this very reason, but I couldn't find one in Red and the Sport was a wicked good deal. It has grown on me.

What can I say? Every time I see non functional scoops and vents I just see red. No pun intended.

It looks good, just wish Toyota had made them functional. Big ass air box for some nice cool air, and some additional engine bay cooling.

If they were truly functional that would be amazing. You would think they would save a few bucks by being able to reuse the stamped out sheet metal.

Even if making them functional cost a bit more, charge money for the option. People do pay for things like that.

They could have directed to the transmission and eliminate the transmission cooler! Oh wait, they did...

I am sure he has all kinds of warnings, 3D camera view etc. But sometimes beverages impacts people's ability to pay attention to such alerts.

After zooming in using photoshop and comparing side by side to LC300 interior photos, I'm pretty sure one of them is an electronic parking brake. No idea about the other one, the icon is too blurry, but I’m hoping it’s a button for the rear locker.

Edit: In the LC300 the button that’s below the parking brake is labeled “Hold”. Whatever that means.

The Tacoma has a rear locker, crawl control and multi terrain select all in one package, so I'm not sure why they couldn't do it with the tundra as well. Now if they really wanna do something, they will give it a front and rear locker and give you the ability to lock em in 4HI, but that is asking too much...lol

People need to realize Toyota is pimping the blinged out features of the new Tundra on the Pro. Tacoma has had MTS and crawl features since 2016, but only on the OR TRD and Pro, I think. The 4Runner even longer on the OR TRD.

Lower trims = less fancy gadgets

    That's what she said.

The hold button will keep the truck stopped at a red light when you take your foot off the brake, then when you press the gas it releases the brakes. My mom and sisters new rav4s have the hold feature, its actually really nice.

Is this a specifically hybrid function?

Edit: Googled for myself like a full grown adult. It’s not a hybrid only function and the question was dumb. I will show myself to the door.

I don't get it. Is having a foot on the brake for the duration of a light change cycle such a hardship that an electronic system was needed to take up the strain?

I heard putting the mirrors on the door greatly reduces the blind spots.

Seriously? What is wrong with some of you lol? You'll find anything convenient something to complain about. Do you not put your car in park at long lights? or are you one of those people who will sit at a train crossing in Drive the whole time with your foot on the brake?

Based on my dad's experience, I typically figure 15 years is a decent life for a vehicle, though he probably could have kept his Matrix longer.

I've never experienced a light so long I've felt the need to take my foot off the brake. The lights where I live change within a couple minutes at most. Usually a minute or so and I'm back on the gas. Yes, I put my truck in park at a train crossing. Not sure why I would prefer a button over that, maybe to reduce the effort of moving my arm to shift out of drive? I'm out of shape, but not by that much.

I'm not against convenience. I just don't see the convenience factor here.

That's what I hear but doesn't help the fact it looks terrible. Now even the gm hd trucks have them on the doors and it looks horrible, my biggest gripe with the new gm hd's. The mirrors look like such an afterthought.

I haven't been in a gm truck with them on the doors yet to compare but I never had issues with the k2x body style. I'm glad to see the 22' tundra has the mirrors in the correct spot.

What does the button activate that holds the vehicle in place?

It’s for stop and go traffic…it will hold the vehicle at a stop without you having to keep your foot on the brake. My wifey’s RAV4 has it and where we live it’s pretty much useless..

Didn't intend for that to be smart alecky. It's literally what I've read on the GM Trucks forum. :sorry:
