    Hey guys,
I got my two rear doors sound deadened this morning, and I want to do that pathetic back wall while I have all my stuff out. I know I can raise the rear seat bottom. But can I fold the seat down to access the rear wall? I don't want to have to take the top of the seat off the bottom bench.

Any videos or links to other threads would be great, I've searched and not found what I want, which makes me think there isn't a button to fold them down.

    Thanks!

I don’t think you can just remove the top from the bottom. For the crewmax, 6 bolts underneath and the whole seat comes out.
Make sure you remember which bolt goes where, one of them is threaded differently than the others

Your back seats come out as a left and right assy’s
Just unbolt them from the floor and walk’em out.
There will be two odd size bolt threads that go in the particular holes but use the same 17mm if I’m mistaken.

Ugh, not what I wanted to hear, but what I thought was going to happen! At that point I might as well just pull up the carpet back there and get the rear floor too....

It's how I should do it for the best results I guess, just not pumped.

    Thank you!

This won't be too bad, I might just have to do it, its what an extra 5 minutes to get the seat out. just need to not be lazy!

King is correct, 8 bolts, two with different threads.
It’ll be much easier overall, it’s not too terrible taking the seats out. I did it to install the ESP locking storage.

I just pulled the underseat storage which was easy, and exposed the bolts. I'm going to grab my sockets and head out to get it done.

Thanks to everyone for your help!!!

Be careful not to f*@K-up the door opening taking the seat out of the passenger compartment!
Lay a blanket or towel over the jamb opening, before you try.....

Also take note or digital picture of the seat belt buckle configuration as the center seat has an elastic holder.

    Good Luck

was just about to pull it and saw this! grabbing some towels.

so far it was a 14mm socket and i’ve got ten bolts out. 6 black for the seat and 4 silver for the seat belts.

    Okay, out and back in.

I used a 14mm socket on everything. 10 bolts, but I didn't know I could just push the seat belt receptor side through the seat, so it should have been 6 like people said.

The protection behind that seat from Toyota is pathetic!

Thanks for the help everyone and I hope this helps someone in the future.

    I have a 2021 Double Cab.

Ha, well...you know how it is. Rushing to get something done and leaving out pertinent details :anonymous:

This is wonderful. Now that I've done what I wanted back there I don't know that I'll need to ever fold it down again. I guess if I wanted to hide some :infantry::infantry:

I work from home (live on land and use it to make monies, not a desk job) and use the truck to tow my toys and lawn gear for maintenance, otherwise my tow straps and ratchets etc... fit in the underseat storage for the most part. If I worked a trade and was using it for that, I think I'd probably do the mod.

Thanks for that other mod link, I always like to do little things to the truck!
