Thats pretty awesome! You going to make a build thread or a thread on the tank?

I didn't think about to build thread on setting up the tank because TransferFlow sends out with instructions, the only thing that i get hard time is to determine which hose i need to use. The instructions printed no color.

I got some of the low pro ones, but couldn't get it to fit so that the tab on the visor didn't make the plastic, where the mirror meets the door, stick out. Did you have that issue?

Not at all Romad, I pressed as much as I could by hand after pulling off the tab exposing the adhesive, then when I rolled up my window I grabbed the edge of the vent shade to make sure the window slid into place. Went right in. Tomorrow I’ll roll the window down after 48 hours just to see if it sat up well and hopefully my new tint is not damaged.

Decided to install my resonator for my 8" DD and I think I fucked it up lol. First off by the time the pilot hole was drilled from my holesaw, I realized I wasn't completely off the little hump that's in the straight portion of the exhaust. I continued on and my first holesaw just snapped teeth off. I went and got another (both bimetal), and the second did the same. I wound up finishing the hole with my angle grinder, and it wasn't pretty lol.

Feels like I lost a lot of sound out of the exhaust, and doesn't sound like a tamed down version of what it was pre-resonator. Not totally sure the resonator is sealing due to that small hump it's clamping over. Think I'll just see about picking up another tailpipe from a scrapyard and junk mine

Added a bunch of rock rash to the sliders. This truck is WIDE compared to my previous Tacoma (not a new fact). But, the sliders are worth every penny. Trails have become much more challenging with the size difference.

Looks amazing man. That’s exactly what I’d put in if I did an aftermarket. Love that it has a volume knob. How come I’m seeing so many guys with 21’s putting in aftermarket head units right away? Are there limitations to the stock setup?

is it simply to better dial in the eq/crossover on aftermarket speakers? Wireless CarPlay? That doesn’t seem worth $1200 to me tbh

This is why we do our own maintenance… has the dealer do the fluids 30k miles ago and the tech stripped the front diff drain and way over torqued it. Didn’t realize till today… Taking it in tomorrow to have them fix it.

anyways did the oil, rear diff, trans, transfer case, sway bar, and plasidip the chrome in your eyes cup holder (didn’t get a photo but it’s black and not shinning in my eyes)

To me, the weakest part of the interior of the 2020/2021 model is the awful audio. Just slapping the label "JBL Premium" audio on it is a joke. There was nothing premium about it. The factory HU has volume leveling and bass removal turned on and cannot be disabled, not to mention that it does not have wireless AA or Carplay. Just replacing the HU, the audio is MUCH better. Still no kick from the "subwoofer" that they put in. Another grand and I'll have the subs and speakers replaced.

Now, is it worth it? To me, yes. I'm not a gear head overlander towing massive loads guy. So dumping a couple grand into good audio is the equivalent to when I see people put various things on their truck that I'd personally never need. To each their own and best wishes on better gas prices to all.

I could be wrong here but I think the sound quality significantly increases with just a better HU, let alone HU + speakers. From what I have read its always the HU you want to swap first. Which is also why I don't think the tablet is the way to go.

I will confirm that with the JBL "Premium" system, replacing the head unit fixes probably 80% of the door speakers volume/quality. The sub is still absent, but this is probably an issue with the factory amp settings. I have no regrets, and it could certainly be done for cheaper, but if I'm going to be driving this thing for the next 20 years I don't see a reason to go cheap.

What exactly are you controlling with the tablet? Is it legal to drive with that?? We have distracted driving laws here don't think that would fly altho all the cops do it but they are above the law.

So is there a HU that fully replaces all of the functionality of the stock HU? Including all the system settings for the truck, and improves sounds quality and includes wireless carplay? I don't want to lose or trade functionality. I just want to eliminate the hard resets that I have to do a few times a month.

I didn't lose any functionality. All the computer settings for locks the beeps and the sweeps are still in there. Factory remote start still works via keyfob and app. Steering controls still work. That said, you need a iDataLink Maestro RR to make all of that work, which is an additional added cost.

I put $2,000 into my stereo system and kept the original head unit (non-jbl) and everyone that hears it says its the best system they ever heard. Granted I went overboard with 3way Focals in front and 2 way Focals in rears plus 2 x 10inch JLaudio subs.
If you have proper amps/ subs/ speakers these head units are just fine.
