How do I stop those damn robocalls about extending my warranty? I don't want the damn warranty "Suzie!" and I press 9 at the end to get removed from the list but guess what Suzie calls me back from an endless amount of numbers. With the amount of times Suzie calls me I'm pretty sure we're dating at this point :goingcrazy:

I know I'm not the only one - or am I?:annoyed:

LOL....you pressed 9 which confirmed they had called a valid phone number. Sorry...kinda screwed the pooch on that one. That phone # will now get calls like that for a long time

My pixel phone will automagically reject spam callers. If the number isn't on their spam list, then it has an option to screen a call......it reads a prompt and asks wtf do you want (paraphrasing). It usually disconnects after 5sec

Never press the number to be put on the do not call list, that just validates your number. Answer the call and run them in circles for a while about which car (1972 Plymouth station wagon), how many miles (lord knows, the odometer went out years ago), condition (hell boy, it runs, what else do you want), and as many other things as possible. The longer you tie them up, the better. To them, time really is money and if they aren't making a sale, they're losing cash. They pay for each number on a list. After you waste their time for a while, they'll tag your number as a bad number and try to get a refund. They know you won't bite, and they don't want to waste time in the future. After the company that provides the list issues a few refunds, they'll take your number off the lists. They don't like refunding money any more than the telemarketers like wasting time.

I'd totally do that but Suzie is a recording. I pressed the button so I'm fucked there.
My iPhone has the feature of sending callers that are not on my contact list straight to voicemail but for work I need to receive calls from people I don't know, so I'm screwed there too.

Does Suzi give you the option to talk to a human and sign up?

We’re not that far into our relationship yet to add other people into the mix o_O

Actually, there’s a press 5 option for more info, which I haven’t done.

    Just block that number.

I've never received a call about warranty.

I don't answer because I've blocked the calls but I'm letting them fill my voicemail. Pretty soon they won't be able to leave a message. If I don't recognize the # I don't answer and I don't want to talk anyway. :argue:

I get those calls, and the ones from "your credit card company" and the ones about my SSN being exposed. I don't press anything and if it goes to a human I either talk with them like I'm insane, or I put the phone to my dog and let them listen to him breathing, or worse, I play guitar until they hang up. I'm absolutely terrible on guitar.

Get creative. It makes life more fun.

For credit card ones I use a fake credit card generator and give them all the fake info… they get really mad. But it’s funny to me and kills some time

I use an App on Android that dumps all calls unless they are in my contacts list. Then my outgoing VM says they have to leave a name and number otherwise I won't call them back.

I answer their call with "Thanks for calling A better extended auto warranty company, who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?" They are usually live people and stunned every single time.

There are a bunch. I think Robocaller is the most popular. I use Hiya.

If I don't recognize the number, I let it go to voicemail. As mentioned above, don't do anything to make them think you're a real person.
