    Hey Everyone,
Looking to see if anyone has info / tips on towing a 30 foot Travel Trailer. I have the 2018 limited TRD 4x4 crewmax. I’m seeing towing up to 10,200 but having a hard time finding the actual Groos towing capacity for my model. Any help would be great
    Thanks in advance
    Tundra Rich

You need the weight of your trailer or put it on a scale.

Search out the make and model of the trailer.

All the info should be put there for your vehicle and trailer. You just have to look for it.

Hey Tundra Rich....kfrog here, sent you a memo earlier but there may have been an issue as program said I need 436 characters that I exceed. I'm new to this. Did you get the memo?

Every travel trailer towing post I've seen on here turns into a big argument.
If you want any decent info. Provide many many details in a post. Exactly what truck and exactly what travel trailer and such. Good luck.

No one can help the OP at this point anyway....we don't know what his trailer even weighs....let alone all the other factors that will affect his towing capacity.

Take heart; all is not lost.

If the OP would elucidate upon which engine oil brand and grade he uses we can solve 90% of his problem.

I tried a couple times last evening to respond to your question but was unable to forward memo. You asked me about my trailer and towing it. I'll try again but in reading comments from hagrid and others this morn they are correct and assume you have checked your capacities.
Anyway, my Tundra is the 2 wheel drive model with towing capacity of 10k. The trailer was an Arctic Fox made in eastern Oregon with added insulation that weighed about 7k MTY and 8K loaded ready to camp. I had been up those hills in Colorado to Steamboat Springs and across to Oregon and northwest. All was good, ran about 60/65 mph most time and of course had to slow going up hills but really sped up going down. I really like the transmission controls and center console on this truck giving me the ability to shift and hold gears that avoided a lot of up and down shifting if left on it's own. Gas mileage sucked as all us Tundra owners know 8 mpg normal, 7 with head wind and 9 with tail wind. I had the equalizer or weight distribution hitch whatever you wish to call it that had this combination handling just great. I never had a problem with this unit, not even a flat tire and clocked about 15k miles before going to motorhome. Girlfriend wanted more room and that's okay.
Good luck TundraRich knowing you'll get ur right.

I tow a 22' trailer. We went to South Dakota last month and had bad hail, wind, and some highway flooding in Wyoming. That was scary. Last weekend in Buena Vista, our campsite wouldn't fit a trailer longer than 25'.

I wouldn't tow a 30' trailer with the Tundra, be able to do the stuff we like to do, and feel safe. Too much trailer for me. It would be different if I was towing it 30 miles to the KOA.

What trailer are you pulling? I'm looking for about 24' and under, mainly so it will fit on my driveway.

Things sure have changed from back in the day, as always said. I was driving cane, cattle and hay trailers on the highway loaded and MTY going from one pasture, field or barn to another, driving tractor or truck at 12-14 years of age and of course no license. There was not a lot of traffic and certainly no interstate, so I guess our mindset is somewhat different from the city guys. In those days all were put to work at early age but that's okay. My grandfather would tell me about his days with horses and mules used to plow, tow and bring you to church on Sunday. Now we worry about a 22' trailer versus a 30', be safe.
