CAI Tundra

Just got 2014 tundra 5.7 would like to know the down and dirty on CAI and which one to purchase?

 

It depends on what you're looking for. If its performance, the answer would be none. You already have a CAI from the factory. If you're looking for style, I'm kind of partial to the TRD unit.

Damn never knew stock was better!! But nothing compares to the growl from my k&n when I hit on it in tow haul mode!!

 

Welcome. Put the money into exhaust instead.

 

I do like the sound of the K&N but there so many to choose from which K&N would be the best?
If I were to decide to go with an exhaust don't have a lot of cash would like to get the biggest bang for my buck what do you think? Really appreciate all of your help with these questions.

 

I've got the TRD dual and I like it. If I hadn't gotten this first I'd be calling @dirtydeeds

 

I did the banks monster exhaust with the k&n filter that came with the black plastic air tube

 

How do you like the banks exhaust? Sound, performance, fitment, quality? It looks good online and the price is right!

 

I like it, fit perfect and has a nice sound with out the drone.

 

No noticeable power loss? Hear a lot about aftermarket exhaust robbing low end torque.

 

Go with Keith from @dirtydeeds for your exhaust. Biggest bang for your buck!

Nope. Not true.

I have the K&N and I only get about 12.5 mpg's

I could have but I'd hate for you to hate me telling you you're going to get all these MPG's and then not get anything and be pissed at me, lol

 

Now, the growl you get out of it is worth it to me. It sounds awesome in my opinion, almost like a small turbo.

 

I don't want this thread to digress into random chit chat, but ... I want the SC pretty bad.

 

I believe that's when you go for a dual exhaust. I felt no loss in power

That's more for sound I believe and hp not torque. Maybe some one with more knowledge can chime in. But from what I was always told is to stick with the single outlet so the the loss of torque if any is minimal.

 

That's what I've heard to. Just wondering if it's worth it. Found a guy parting out a truck that has the duals.

 

Trd duals?? I'd get them just cause of what they cost
