Same here, they extend the adjustment range much like a 20MOA scope base extends your scope adjustment. My son put the seat jackers in his Tacoma (which has even less adjustment than the Tundra) and after I saw how they worked I got some for myself. Well worth it!

Just pay some fat guy or girl 20 bucks to sit in there for an hour or two. That ought to fix the seat and make it more comfortable.

 

I think a super charger, injectors, headers, etc. would make it less of a problem.

I have a 17 limited. My seats are very firm 67k miles on it. I personally like that about it , but my back problems require super firm everything , seats , mattress etc. My wife has the same complaints as you about it. We took my truck to Texas recently from Utah and she was complaining about how stiff they were. She is used to f150s. I don't personally think it will soften up for you on its own.

 

So, I get it now. Tilting that seat back requires offsetting the mount point for the seat bracket, especially if you’re leaving the rear mount points stock. There goes another $90!

How so?

 

If you pull the mounting bolts you'll see there is a guide pin on the frame in addition to the bolt. You could probably put some washers in there or fab up something else, but it would be difficult to get it perfectly flat, and if you used the factory bolts you'd be giving up several threads. These mounts use new bolts to hold the mount to the floor, then the factory bolts go into the mount.
With something like a seat that is designed to hold you in place during a collision I wouldn't trust anything besides a purpose built product like this. We do what we gotta do to be comfortable but I wouldn't give up safety to do it.

What I noticed @Ellis_McPickle that caused me to bite off on this was the new angle the seat base presents once you add 1” of lift to the front brackets. You can see it in the way the jacker body is formed. To really get this right, you’d have to expand the mounting hole to a slot and bend the front bracket post to properly meet the floor mounting point and use the same factory location. Not really that big of a deal - I have the tools and skill, but I’d never do that with a seat mounting point.

I’m 100% onboard with the safety aspect. I did the driver-side oh sh— handle mod. Afterward, some incredibly well informed member of this forum (don’t have his call sign, sorry) noted Toyota removed this for forward collision safety reasons (head impact with the handle). Now, it’s all I see/think about when I look at it; hate that about my personality! Also, I found I got used to not having it when I load up. So… you might see it on the Marketplace here soon if I change my mind. Safety first… it’s a real thing.

 

I drove from Dallas to Tennessee and back in my 2020 crew max and it’s the first time I’ve driven in a vehicle that long where my back didn’t hurt afterwards. Seats are good for me

Use a piece of mirror/picture frame wire to give the lumbar support a bit more slack when in the relaxed position (see photo).
