Very good chance that Marshal Dillon will kick the 2022 Tundra out of Dodge city.

Well all the idiots who called tundras outdated are getting what they want, a stupid modern spaceship interior like Big-3 trucks. I prefer the more rugged off road styling of the current gen.

Still might get one in a few years purely for gas mileage since my truck is used for trips mainly...

LOL - same. I knew darn well when I bought my truck that "F150 hAs MoRe PoWeR/pAyLoAd" and all that. That's not why I bought my Toyota. I didn't *need* "the most" power. I simply wanted to be able to tow what I tow now - which my '13 F150 easily towed with a 5.0 - and do it reliably.

As long as the new Tundra continues the reliability trend, and adds some power/MPG, I'm good.

Let's hope it doesn't have issues with the screen controls and chips like some of the big 3. My buddies ram just totally went kaput because of a microchip issue and his touch screen. Heard the same thing happened to a Ford (escape). Not sure about Chevy but I can only assume they aren't super reliable either? I prefer actual knobs, physical buttons and trucks and cars are getting way too dependant on electronics and touch screens to control everything. You almost need to take a course to turn the ac on with some of the newer models. I love my Gen 3 interior of my tundra.

Why is it so important to you to label people that drive a vehicle you do not like? Ram has a place in the market even if I am not interested in them. If I did not have the $50K+ to drop on a Tundra they may be one of my only options. Younger me would not have minded at all.

I do not want state of the art with touch screens and whatever fad. I want classic and functional styling that will last 2-3 decades and not break. I do not need a baby changing station on the center console or a toolbox under the drivers floorboard.

Four pages (and counting) of bullshit about a pic of an interior from a prototype vehicle. No one knows what the actual interior looks like...Can't make it up!:der:

True, I'm on a forum. But most of these posts are not speculation. We will soon see if the prototype interior pic is actually what comes out in production.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I did it for humor, something sorely lacking on this site. Seriously this might be the most easily butt hurt group of people I have ever encountered on an Internet forum.

I get it, you guys had fun once and it was awful. This is a no fun allowed zone. We must be dour and permanently humorless about everything.

I suggest you place me on your ignore list because I will continue to make irreverent comments. The easy solution for you is to just not see them at all.

    What is humorous about this?

It does not seem humorous nor Tundra related to me. It just seems like a relabeling of something after the fact. If a joke falls in the woods and nobody hears it, is it a joke?

This is most likely a base/sr5 screen. What is shown in the teaser is most likely a 12in screen that will be standard on Platinum/1794 and an upgrade option on Limited and TRD Pro.

I recently purchased my wife the new Highlander Platinum that comes standard with the 12in screen. Most other models have the smaller, can’t recall the actual size screen. I assume Toyota will do the same with Tundra. And the Tundras interior will be mix of the new Land Cruiser and Highlander interior.

I've been living with the the know gear selector now for almost two months I really don't mind it now. It did take awhile to get used to it though I kept reaching for the volume button

I’ve had rams as rentals a half dozen times or so and I’ve come very dangerously close to grabbing the wrong dial while driving on each and every one. Lol

I’m sure you get used to it with time, I’m just still not a fan.

Yeah man same here I'll go to turn down the radio and my hand lands on the shifter drives me crazy. It is nice to have the extra room where the cup holders go.

I do hope toyota can do something that makes sense in the center arm rest storage area. Ram nailed that there's no comparison

I think the fold down shift lever that Ford came up with is pretty ingenious myself.

OK hear me out for a second. What if Toyota offered a PA speaker system on the new Tundra? Would that sweeten the pot for you?

Just imagine being able to key up the mic in your new Tundra and yell at kids to get off your lawn, or turn down that damn rock and roll music. If you bought a truck with a panoramic sunroof you could also leave it open to shake your fist at them if the driver side window isn’t enough fist shaking space.

Sure but you like them new fangled things like cassette tapes, and answering machines. Figures you would like that sinful rock and roll music!

Next you’ll tell us that you agree with women folk having the vote.

What the hell is this country coming to? We used to drive good simple, reliable trucks! No fancy metal beds, they were wood so we could fix them ourselves. We didn’t have radios or new fangled electronics! We hand cranked the engines to life, and proudly drove down good honest dirt or gravel roads. No pavement, that nonsense is for sissies! Maybe some cobble stones in town, to keep the streets clean. Real men didn’t even have windows or heaters in their trucks. If it was cold you put a coat on! By Jimminey you could get some fresh air whether you wanted it or not, and there wasn’t anything keeping you from yelling at young hoodlums and reprobates to stay off of your lawn!

New cars and trucks with their space ship windows, and batteries, climate controls, and electronic conveniences are making us weak. They’re the ruination of our culture!

The most amusing part will be watching the 2.5 Gen owners (the 2014 to 2021 is a refresh on the 2nd Gen not a 3rd Gen) who hate the new truck, buy the new 3rd Gen (they call it a 4th Gen but they’re wrong). The same dudes who claim it’s ugly will love the new look once they buy one. We will get to read comments about how much better it looks in person (it probably does in reality).

Then the loyal V8 or it’s not a real truck guys will buy a new Gen 3 with the V35A-FTS because a lot of them trade in frequently. Then we can read up on how the new truck runs like a raped ape on bath salts compared to the old 3UR-FE equipment Tundra. Once the aftermarket catches up and it’s easy to get 500+ horsepower and as much or more torque on the stock turbos and intercooler, a few supercharged 3UR-FE guys will probably even grudgingly admit how good the new truck is.

All assuming that Toyota doesn’t botch this.
