Yes, they are amazing trucks. As consumer, we love them. But, 10k over MSRP…? If you’re looking for a Tundra TRD PRO you’re probably going through the same hassle of mark ups. And look, If you feel it’s worth it, to each their own. I’m boycotting any dealers taking advantage of this situation. These are the excuses I keep hearing for the mark ups:
    “Market adjustment”
    “LIMITED”
    “Chip shortage”
    “Popular with consumers”

There are dealerships not charging that mark up. Call it what you want, I will make it an effort to do all my Toyota purchases with those(that are near me of course) that are not marking trucks up.

2muchfun, that is insane!! I will never do business with any Toyota dealership taking advantage of consumers like that. I understand capitalism, good on them, but, dealers would never pay you $80k for your tundra.

And that’s another excuse they give:
    “Limited availability”
    Also
    “Consumer demand”
Small town dealers like St George, UT and Prescott, AZ are charging $5-10k over. Lost my and my family’s business forever.

i'm in the process of tryin to land a trd pro sequoia in lunar rock. they had one dealership bump the price 5k over because of the color. then proceeded to talk about the 4runner marked up 30k. i told him that doesn't justify his reasoning. he also told me it was the last LR in the nation. i told him a dealer 20 mins from him has one coming in this week. he crawfished a bit. can't stand it

Once again a pointless thread. It is already well known, and it's not a Toyota thing. It's most manufacturers. Also applies to furniture, appliances, etc.

Pointless or not, it’s still happening. More awareness is good awareness. Consumers are getting taking advantage of. Key fix: Yeah, don’t consume. But, really… A 30k markup. We’re a toyota family and making note of this.

There really shouldn't be a need for awareness , If an individual doesn't have enough common sense to realize paying 30k over MSRP is absolutely crazy . Then he or she deserves to be ripped off IMO

I have to be completely honest...... My wife is looking at a Yukon AT4. They are about as hard to find any as a Lunar Rock Pro. There are a total of 29 listed for sale within 300 miles of Knoxville, TN. All but 2 had already been presold. The 2 available were MSRP plus $10k.

There is no way in hell we are paying that! It would be $74k + $10k plus tax. That SUV would be $90k

They can ask whatever they want, you don't have to buy.

It's ridiculous. But someone will pay for it. There's always a dumbass willing to fill the seat of these trucks. Then it will be for sale as used within 6 months cause they couldn't afford it.

Where is the dealer thread lamenting about cheap ass customers who lowball everything...Maybe the threads about the customers who expect shit for free just because a mistake was made or something similar.

Wow, did I time it right to buy my truck! I bought it last July with the $2,500 rebate and about $3,500 off sticker price… really just dumb luck when I got bored with my CR-V.

I say more power to them. It is not like a TRD PR
Correct because they know it is a business. Buyers of Lunar Rocks get way too emotional.

Well… about 7 years. More important things with younger kids before. Now it was time for what I really wanted.
