Seems to correlate with the price of Palladium going up 3-5 times in price over the same time frame.

That’s probably not a bad idea if it’ll still pass emissions.

Those cat don’t last, if you looking for a temporary fix til the parts come it’s good, but nothing out last the factory unit.

You’ll still run mufflers, you should be fine, it will just throw a check engine light, so you’ll need to keep an eye to make sure one doesn’t pop up that’s for another issue.
If I didn’t have emissions I’d probably not have cats on the 4 runner either

It depends on how the computer reacts. Both my toyotas have their cats. And id assume they run leaner than my jeep. And vvti scares me…
But theres yootoobe vids of people running catless and straightpipes on drive by wire vvti engines.? And look at the o2 simulators.

but, one of my dads coworkers got a hemi ram, put flowmaster straight-rear duals, and a tonneau cover and his truck would shit a brick when the cylinder deactivation would kick on.

An O2 simulator will satisfy the requirements of the downstream O2 sensors so no code gets thrown. You may even pick up some HP without the CATs.

Louisiana is looking more attractive all the time. No emissions and free state college for people over 55 years old. I’ll have to consider there when I retire. :bananadance:

Shouldn’t they just send you a check to pay for quoted repairs?

They should send you the check and allow you to get the work done wherever you want. I had an experience with this when I ran something over in my lowered hatch. Exhaust was damaged and mangled studs on the turbo. The mechanic I let handle the work tried to get me a whole new stock exhaust for $1500, I got the check and had him fix the studs and left. My exhaust was dented and scratched but no holes, I left it alone.
    Yes, they should.

Hello, I have stayed out of here so far because I don’t offer anything for the first gens. That being said, there is no reason I couldn’t. I have a friend with a lift that is a mechanical engineer. I would just need some time with a truck on the lift to figure out a plate package. I would design a front skid plate and a cat plate aswell, and a rear plate if needed.

I have had spotty interest for the first gens, but if the demand is there, I will make it

I'm pretty sure the interest would be there. I'm not sure of who here is in the Houston area, but I'm sure we have one who wouldn't mind being a guinea pig.

The problem is, designing and prototyping plates is the time consuming and expensive part, only making a few wouldn’t be a good return on my time and money

I think the best option would be to offer a full skid line up, I think we have one other vendor that offers that……one!!!!
If your there prototyping and measuring, might as well get the rest of the truck mapped out.

That would be the plan, it would be a similar setup to what I have for the 2nd and 3rd gens.

I don’t have cats, so I don’t have a pony in that race, but it would be awesome to see more support for 1st gen, armor in particular. I think you’d get a lot of interest

That is what I hope sets me apart, I make these to be skid plates aswell. I know the first gen sequoia’s are becoming off road go to vehicles, they might not care so much about cat theft as they would under armor
