    Just returned from out west.

The fishing was better than last year and even the crowds seemed to less, and last year was a Covid year.P7101489.jpg

Lol they look like monsters. Theyre ribbon fish, they showed up a few years ago off the coast the guy said. They were perfect for the kids to reel in. We were going for red drum and cobai but no bites.

Man I so much want to catch a muskie. Grew up fishing in MN and never did. A couple years ago went out with a guide in WI and had a couple follow our baits to the boat...one was a monster. Heading up their again in September with the same guide. Fingers crossed!

Caught a handful of Lake Trout on Lake Superior with my dad and grandpa over the 4th of July. Caught in about 100ft of water with downriggers and high test line.

Went out trying to get some Reds. I'm in a tournament for July. Log 3 slot fish and 1 over slot. The angler with the best over length of fish is your winner.Caught a 23" and this beast at 27". Caught a puffer fish also, pretty cool. First I've seen out in the sound.
Drums were caught in around 4-5 ' of water.
    Set-up - 7' St.Criox medium power/ fast tip.
Reel- Cadence C10 spooled with 10# Suffix 832 braid.
Lure was a Zmann 3.5" paddle tail in Slam Shady Pearl.

How do you handle that Puffer? From what I remember they are highly poisonous with no known antidote.

I put a towel over it, and removed the hook. From where the hook was I must of snagged him. Got the hook out with no issues, and released it. It was cool to watch it's little pectoral fins flapping .

Great day on the water. Upgraded my 20" drum with a 24, also caught a 20" trout. Overall released around 8 drum, 5 trout, and a bunch of pinfish .
