I just knew the sender I had in my 26 didn’t go down long enough so it wouldn’t track the level of fuel. So I got this one. I’m sure it’s the same as Papasmurf has listed he knows his stuff. I just didn’t want you to do it and then have to drop it again like I did

Im not sure on the flex fuel ones, I don't mess with those. If toyota gives you a diff # then go with that. The one I posted is non flex fuel

Hey guys new to the forum thank you all for opening my eyes to mods and also opening my wallet…

I installed the transfer flow 46 gallon tank. Super easy install and worth the money.

when I spoke to the sales representative he told me they are getting close to being able to sell/use their tanks in California that was in May. Maybe worth the wait to see what unfolds? I’d assume price would increase on the tanks as materials are up as well as an increase demand from a large economy (California).

I have a 2014 as well. The distance to empty will always be off. You’ll have to go off the gauge. Use this, I just made a sticker and stuck it to the truck since I’d forget every time.

2014 needs the parking brake and gas feed lines shimmed.

    Ask me how I know

    Is it worth $1600?

I had a 19 4.6L with the small tank and no tranny cooler. I traded for a low mile 17 5.7L for $1500 and it came with Toyota Tonneau, so not that bad a deal. I could never spend $1600 just to get a bigger tank.

That’s a pretty good trade. As far the price of the tank it’s definitely worth it for me and my application, I do a lot of driving and long distance driving so not having to stop as often is nice. A lot of driving being 30k miles in 4 months.

if you’re just driving around town or not putting serious miles on it I wouldn’t bother lots of other things to spend that money on.

I think so I do a lot of shooting in far middle of no where places and the old tank has me seriously worried a few times. And by the time u price out the roto packs with attachments and blah blah blah yah. But I waited like 2 years and got a tank off an old member for like 400 bucks

Heres the thing the TF tank hangs below the frame rails is more expensive than the stock 38 gal and is about 120lbs more than the 38 gal tank... ill pass for what a few extra gallons? Just carry 1 spare 5gal can and you have the same amount.

Agree not worth it for the 38 gallon squad. More for the 26 gallon squad and if you’re not doing off roading 1 inch won’t make a difference

After spending 6 hours or so pulling the old one out, getting the new one ready to mount up, the third support bar has to have so much cutting done to it that once i lifted it up to see where to drill the mounting holes, the gas lines and parking brake have to be relocated, which required additional cutting. I had to throw in the towel and put the old one back in because i didn't have the right parts to finalize the shims.

The 2016 Tundras have already had this taken into account.

I didn’t have to do any of that to my 2014 limited CM… it was super easy 2 of my buddies helped and about 4 hours later we were done and off to get lunch…

You’re talking about the transfer flow tank right?

No, the OEM 38 gallon tank. The Transfer Flow probably addressed that with fancy mounts :)

My local dealership. Shipping will cost a lot for the tank so would just rather pick it up.

Check both places... I paid $1807 total (includes taxes and shipping) from Toyota Parts... Local dealer wanted over $3k in parts.

Sweet! thank you all. Has anyone entertained using the Victory 4x4 skid with any of the straps rather than ordering 3 new "off-road" straps to bolt to or am i missing something? Victory skid mostly bolts to the frame and you don't appear to need the fancy "off-road straps". or do i still need to order 3 straps regardless? even if so, it seems id rather it be bolted to the frame.

I’ve got the victory skid. You want the straps that does not have the bolts that stick out for the Toyota skid to mount onto.
