No, not because something broke. My family has been staying at my in-laws' house for the past week with my truck. I was originally with them, but I had to come back from vacation to work. They wanted to stay an extra week. So I flew home, and I've been driving my wife's Yukon XL this week.

    Things I like:
    • Air-conditioned cargo space with the auto liftgate. It's easier to load and unload gear from the back door in a parking spot rather than opening one of the Tundra's gigantic rear doors.
    • Steering feel. It is far more responsive with a faster feel than the Tundra.
    • The AC is cold almost immediately. Even if I sit and idle. In my Tundra, I have to get moving for it to really cool down.

    Things I don't like:
    • The throttle. I either give it too little pedal and it seems to bog down, or I give it too much and it revs up really high. This throttle is worse than a 5th gen 4Runner (hard to believe, I know). I've been driving it for a week, and I don't think a sweet spot exists.
    • The ride. This thing floats and leans into turns like the giant fat pig that it is.
    • The noise. Everything rattles in the GMC's interior–the dash, the doors, the side panels in the rear cargo area. My Tundra is silent. Granted, the Tundra has 10% of the GMC's miles. But the Tundra just feels so much better put together.
    • The GMC gives off a subtle "this might not get me to my destination" vibe that I do not enjoy. 140k miles with plenty of irritating issues along the way, and it just feels tired. Maybe I'm paranoid because of how many times I've had to diagnose and fix the thing.

I have been thinking over the past couple weeks that I may trade my Tundra in for a domestic HD truck because of payload issues. But spending a week in this GMC (which my wife loves) really turned me off to that idea. This is supposed to be the step up from a Suburban, and it is in terms of features, but it feels hastily thrown together.

I just need the GMC to last till the 3rd Gen Sequoia comes out a year after the new Tundra. A TTv6 Sequoia would be awesome.

Mama might learn to appreciate the Tundra, better hope she doesn't find the beast mode button. :rocket:

Man....I was considering a new Yukon xl, but this is helping me finalize my decision to just do the sequoia with no regrets. I may be able to snag one of the last ones with the V8 and possibly lunar before the new one comes out in 23

Can confirm. We had a 18 sequoia. Light years ahead of a Tahoe we had for a few weeks while our last (05) sequoia was getting damage repaired. Also drove a newer (19 maybe?) Suburban on a vacation 2 yrs ago. It was ok. But sequoia felt better built.
I used to be a gm fanatic as a kid/teen. The only way I'd go back is for a hotrod or weekend play toy. Knock on wood but I need something absolutely dependable and based on several friends' personal experiences, toyota is way to go.
Long and short of it, get a sequoia. Enjoy.
