So I recently picked up this Leer cap for my 13 CM Rock Warrior. The truck is MGM so I’m looking to change the color on this one way or another. I’ve tossed around the different options. I know I could take it to a body shop and have it matched but I’m really not trying to spend a fortune. Part of me wants to paint it MGM myself, possibly black if the MGM would be too hard to match. What about vinyl? Is there a vinyl out there that would closely match MGM pretty well? Maybe wrap it black? Just trying to weigh my options, appreciate any input!

White may not be the best looking, but it would stay cooler. So, I would be painting it white. Get paint and hardener from Napa, a little laquer thinner, masking supplies, a cheap paint gun. Air compressors are cheap at pawn shops.

Edit, I would give it a little sanding for good adhesion of course.

I was going to use roll on bedliner for mine. It is cheap and forgiving of lazy prep and black goes with anything really.
But then I found a different cap and just went with that instead.
    And then another......

I priced Vinyl and paint and did not want to go there at all! I imagine you can do Vinyl yourself pretty cheaply too but the bed liner made the most sense to me at the time.

Or just live with it! Mine is MGM too!

He can't paint it white, it would make his mgm tundie go too fast.

I have just about everything I’d need. Going to stop by the auto body store here and price out some mgm mixed up.

Wouldn't need much going with a dark color, probably a quart of paint, cuz when you add hardener and thinner it really adds up the quantity.

Doesn't cost anything to ask, might put out some offers to trade and call a few shell dealers. They might have three black and need a red used in stock. Who knows, right?? Might find a guy who has a red truck who has a brother with an mgm in the backyard. Communication is key sometimes.
