I do not want new ideas. I want old ideas that work and do not break down. If the domestics could provide me that while actually being domestic I would go back to Ford or even get a Chevy. I would also consider Dodge but I am biased and do not think they are reliable.

How soon do I need, not soon. How soon do I want, ASAP :)

Gotta have a truck in the stable.

Shit I'm looking for a 21 TRD Pro to drive until either I get a 22 or my F150 ever gets built. 21's are getting way harder to come buy for instant gratification. Which I guess is a good thing.

I have been waiting for the new redesign of the Tundra for a few years, I finally got tired of waiting. Earlier this year I decided to use my companies GM Supplier Discount and got a 2021 GMC 1500 AT4 with the baby duramax in it. I should have waited. I am plagued by the crank no start issue that a lot of owners are seeing (along with a few other annoyances), I found a service bulletin for the 19-20 models saying some of the bolts in the fuse box in the engine bay were not torqued down enough. Sure enough I was able to turn them several more times with my torque wrench before they were in spec. I haven't had the issue in a few thousand miles. GM still refuses to admit this is an issue in the 2021 models. Needless to say I am concerned what else is not in spec from the factory... I am going to be trading it in for the 2022 Tundra TRD Pro as soon as I can get one, but I refuse to pay above sticker. I may be waiting a year or 2 before I can get one.

I was dead set on the AT4, but the seats and engine issues killed that dream. Not everyone is going over sticker for the 22. I have a reservation for one and guaranteed pricing to not be above MSRP, but we don't know pricing. If the MSRP is below 60k I'll buy it, but anything above that I'll be hesitant.

As a safety net to the 22 I ordered an F150 since it was 8k off + incentives at delivery. It's refundable or I could prob turn around and sell it and not take a loss. But I don't think its going to be built any time soon.

Sorry you’re having issues with your new rig.

For all the little minor annoyances my 2007 has, and they’re noticeable only because when you drive the same truck for 14 years you have the time to nitpick; it’s never given me cause to NEED to replace it.

I’ve stated elsewhere that I’m glad I drive a Toyota because if 2020-2021 teach us anything about automobiles; it’s that a reliable car or truck is pretty damn important. We now live in a time where a person might not be able to find a suitable vehicle to buy without paying a lot more money than they should, or strait up going without.

I will still poke fun at Toyota for being stodgy, and employing product roll outs that are as slow as this one but I’ll probably buy the new truck in a year or two.

I like the bed stamp on the current gen. The stamp on the 22 TRD Pro is just short of flying an advertisement behind a plane.

Can’t comment on the TRD Pro embossing on the tailgate other than observing it’s probably way cheaper for Toyota to only have a stamping die for a tailgate vs two rear quarter panels.

On the oil filter for the V35A-FTS ‘21 variant for the Land Cruiser 300, the oil filter is a spin on filter at the bottom front of the block on the driver’s side. So expect it to be covered up by a skid plate, hopefully Toyota will make an access panel. Maybe Toyota will give us a different variant with the filter housing in the same location, they make one for the AWD LS500. Not sure why they would give us that oil filter arrangement, but we will know in a few months.

Yeah, would be an easy cost cutting measure since it's seems to be strictly cosmetic with the tailgate.

Ah, good point on the LC300. So, based on that, it appears to still hold to the current method. Was wishing for a possible early FJ or Tacoma self-contained spin-on under the hood version.

Agreed the early 4.0L V6 style spin on filter under the hood at the top of the motor was brilliant.

As a consolation the drawing of the V35A-FTS for the LC300 did have a drain shield/funnel incorporated under the spin on filter which is oriented horizontally. So when you loosen it up oil will hit that shield and drain into a container of your choice. We will have to see if Toyota allows us to at least have that convenience.

When I go there I get the Corolla... Maybe Toyota is telling me I don't deserve the Tundra.

I'd be interested in knowing what the basic specs and price were of that build if that's not asking too much. I occasionally mull the possibility of a F150 w/3.5 EB and max tow package.

Agreed, I know people keep saying Toyota is copying the domestics, but I wouldn't mind the 1794 interior looking something more like the king ranch or high country interior. I really like the dark saddle leather a lot more than the orange that the 1794 has.

does anyone know if they'll be keeping the purple plastic? always thought that was kind of a neat touch when your door plastic was 3 different colors.
